Soraya took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. She actually felt a very strong pain in her chest. It made it hard to breathe.
Soraya got up from her bed, walked over to the window and opened it, letting in some fresh air even though it was very cold. Soraya hoped her feelings would feel a little better if she could get some fresh air, but the dark scene before her eyes only made the tightness even stronger. She quickly closed the window when she realized there was a terrible darkness out there.
"Soraya? What are you doing?" Kerry who heard something strange, woke up from her sleep and looked at Soraya who was standing in front of the window with a strange reaction.
"No! It's nothing, I-" She stuttered. It was obvious that she was panicking and trying to distract herself.
Soraya climbed into her bed, lay down and pulled up the blanket. She couldn't hold back her tears when she realized that something bad had happened to Diana.
Drrrttt...drrrttt...
Her phone vibrated, Soraya was so shocked that she almost screamed. She opened her phone again, an incoming message from popping up from her notification. Her eyes widened when she saw who it was.
"Diana?" Her hands were shaking, her heart was beating fast even though she hadn't opened and read the message.
Carefully, Soraya opened the message and read it. Hoping that message really was sent by Diana to let her know that she was fine.
'Sora, how are you? I'm fine, don't worry. I'm hiding somewhere because of one thing I can't tell. I am currently in need of something, can you help me? Please bring shoelaces, some food and also a blanket. Please put it under the big pine tree by the forest door behind the dormitory now. Thank you, Soraya. Sorry for worrying you.'
Soraya was amazed to read the text message Diana sent. She was happy and confused at the same time. Diana was fine and was hiding somewhere. What really happened to her? Why did she even do all this?
However, even though her head was filled with questions, as a friend she could not refuse Diana's request. She got up from her bed and immediately took a thick blanket, but shoelaces, a few slices of bread and a box of juice. She came out of her room cautiously, hoping not to wake anyone.
When her feet arrived at the door of the dormitory building, she saw the darkness again. Although a few garden lights and street lamps helped to illuminate, it was still not enough for her. Especially when she realized, the road leading to the forest door behind the dormitory was surrounded by dense trees. It scared her and thought about giving up.
"It's so dark, I'm afraid! How is it?" She thought. She felt very uneasy, unsure that she would be able to fulfill Diana's request.
Soraya tried to brace herself, taking a step even though her legs were shaking. She couldn't back down, she didn't want to disappoint Diana. Mustering all her courage, Soraya tried to stay calm and walk even though her heart print sounded very strong.
Kukkk...kuuukkk...kuuukkk...
There was the sound of owls perched on a tree, watching her so bravely walk through the dark night alone.
Soraya walked briskly, Her only goal was to reach the big pine tree and give Diana the things she needed.
"That's the tree! The biggest pine tree. I just need to put these things under that tree and get going." She thought.
Soraya finally arrived at the entrance of the back forest, a place she had visited several times. But not in the middle of the night like this. This forest looks very scary at night.
Soraya was stunned, she remembered how she met Robert Stanley in this forest and saw him painting in front of the lake. For some reason, remembering that made her feel really scared. Of all the places, why did Diana ask her to put those things in this forest? Soraya felt confused and realized that this was very strange.
Tuk...tuk...tuk...
Her title feathers tingled instantly when she heard the sound of footsteps that sounded exactly like in her dream. Her body was shaking, her legs felt tight and she couldn't move. She realized someone was walking behind her.
"Leave me and get out of here quickly! Get out before he finds you...!"
Diana's screams echoing in her dreams made her realize that something was wrong.
Tuk... Tuk... Tuk... Sreeekkk... Sreeekkk...
Soraya stood frozen as she felt someone's presence behind her. She saw the light of a flashlight shining on her, reflecting a clear shadow of a person.
Cold sweat dripped down her body, tears welled up in her eyes. She knew she had made a mistake. Yes, a very fatal mistake.
"P-please help-"
"Soraya? Is that you?"
Soraya heard Kimberly's voice and immediately looked back. Kimberly stood behind her, looking at her with a puzzled look.
"Ki-kimber-ly...?"
"What are you doing here?" Kimberly asked with her usual calm expression. She looked at the package in Soraya's hand and seemed to have guessed something.
"W-what are you doing here?"
"I should be the one asking that! I'm just here to make sure you come or not!"
"What do you mean?"
"You must have got a message from Diana, right?"
"H-how did you know? Could it be you too?"
"Yeah, I also got a message from her. I couldn't sleep and suddenly got a message from her. It felt very strange, she asked me to bring some things and also food, then brought her to this place. Isn't that very strange?"
"You are right-"
"I'm sure you must have gotten that message too and as I thought, you actually took those things and brought them here!" Kimberly said. She smiled in contempt, making Soraya feel very ashamed for her careless act.
"So that's why you came to this place?"
"Yeah, I know a naive person like you would believe it. You know you're putting yourself in danger? What if the message was sent by someone who did something bad to her? Did you don't think that far?"
"I-I I don't-"
"Tch, I thought so! You really are stupid, aren't you? If you continue like this, you might be the next victim!" Kimberly said sarcastically. Hearing her harsh words made Soraya speechless.
She was speechless because she knew that what Kimberly said was true. She had endangered herself and it was really a very reckless.
Seeing Soraya silent and almost crying, made Kimberly feel a little guilty.
"Never mind! Let's get out of here before someone dangerous comes!"
