Soraya looked around, trying to find where Robert's car was parked in the supermarket parking lot. A few meters ahead, she saw a black car with the same license plate number as Robert's. Soraya was sure it was Robert's car, she walked over to the car and knocked on the window.
Realizing that Soraya had arrived, Robert opened the car door and let Soraya inside. Robert looked at Soraya who he knew wasn't feeling well, after all that had happened to her. Her face was pale and her eyes looked so sad and depressed.
"Are you okay? Shall we go to the hospital to check on you?" Asked Robert. Although the question shows his concern. But his expression and tone of voice still seemed cold.
"I'm fine! Where is that place you said? Can I rest there today? My head is so dizzy, I want to sleep!" She said as she touched her forehead and rubbed it gently.
"Okay, I'll take you there! But, don't tell anyone about the place, including your friends!"
"Yes, I understand!"
Robert drove his car down the highway. Soraya didn't know where Robert was going to take her, all she could do now was trust him.
After a 40-minute journey, they arrived at a house surrounded by large trees. The house looks very beautiful, just like the house in a fairy tale. Robert parked his car in front of the terrace of the house. Then he came out as if they had really arrived at their destination.
A confused Soraya, got out of the car restlessly. This house was quite secluded and that scared her.
"Here?" She asked while rubbing the back of her neck. Her eyes were unfocused and Robert seemed to understand her concern.
"Come in!" Robert said as he unlocked the door and entered quietly as if this was his house.
Soraya walked behind Robert, she hesitated. However, when her eyes caught the rest of the room, she was shocked by what she saw. This house is filled with porcelain dolls. Very many, neatly arranged on shelves and cupboards.
Soraya shuddered, she felt as if the dolls were looking at her. Soraya felt uneasy, she didn't know why Robert had brought her to this house.
"Th-this-"
"You can stay here for a while!" Said Robert as he took off his coat and pinned it to the post.
Robert looked very calm, as if the scene in this house was very familiar to him. Rather than looking like a human house, this house deserves to be called a doll house.
Too scared, Soraya was reluctant to even sit down. She had changed her mind and left this house. However, seeing Robert's face that seemed to say that everything would be fine made Soraya unable to just leave.
"W-why are there so many dolls here?" She asked nervously. Soraya held her breath which felt heavy.
"Didn't I tell you about my doll collection? I keep mine in this house!"
"But, whose house is this?"
"This is my house! On holidays I often spend time here painting and looking for painting ideas. There something interesting, comes with me!" He said as he walked towards the back door of the house which was near the kitchen.
Robert opened the door and walked out. Behind him, Soraya followed him with an uneasy feeling. However, when she saw what was in front of her eyes, Soraya was amazed.
A small lake inhabited by a few birds and swans surrounded by meadows and autumn flowers. The trees are barely leafless because they have to face the next winter, but the beauty of this place does not disappear.
"It's beautiful-" Soraya muttered. Seeing how beautiful this place was made her worries disappear. She was starting to think that this place wasn't so bad.
"You like?"
"Yes, that's great!" Soraya smiled gently. She felt a little better. Beside her, Robert gently took her hand and kissed her lips.
Soraya felt her head go blank, this man's kiss made her unable to think of anything. She was lost in a strange feeling with tears starting to flow down her face.
Robert hugged Soraya, hugged her tightly. He knew that what Soraya needed most right now was a hug.
"Everything will be fine!" His whisper is soft. His hand stroked Soraya's head who was sobbing in his arms.
"I didn't do anything! I never asked her to do that! It wasn't my fault...!"
Hearing Soraya's cry, Robert could do nothing but listen. This girl is in shock, she has just lost her close friend, she was the last person to see her alive and now, her crazy roommate decides to end her life and make Soraya a scapegoat.
Soraya cried for 15 minutes until slowly the crying stopped and she fell asleep. Robert lifted Soraya's body into the house and carried her into the room. He laid Soraya's body on the warm mattress and covered her with a thick blanket.
For a few moments, Robert sat on the edge of the bed and looked at Soraya's face who had been asleep for minutes. He might be a strange man, but what he felt for this girl wasn't anything wrong.
Robert got up and intended to leave, letting Soraya sleep. But as he did so, the sleeping Soraya grabbed his hand, forcing him to stop in his tracks.
"Don't go! Don't leave me!" She mumbled softly. Tears welled up in her eyes, she looked so miserable.
Robert decided to stay here with her. He sat on the edge of the bed, gently stroking Soraya's head, hoping her feelings would be much calmer.
However, what he did made Soraya's cry even worse. Soraya clasped his hands tightly, placed it on her chest and hugged it. Her weak side made Robert so eager to protect her.
Robert lay behind Soraya, asking Soraya to change position so he could hug her. Hugging her tighter, gave her the warmth and strength she didn't get from anyone else.
Robert remembered the song, Soraya said that her mother would sing the song so that she could sleep well and forget her sadness. Robert thought to replace Soraya's mother, singing the song this time. That way, Soraya could feel the warmth of her mother by her side.
Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high...
There's a land that I heard of, once in a lullaby...
Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue...
And the dreams that you dare to dream, really do come true...
