Frightened

Kerry opened the door, her eyes immediately caught Soraya's pale face who looked very surprised. Soraya didn't react, her mind was blank. In front of her, Kerry looked confused and awkward, thinking that Soraya might have overheard her on the phone. Kerry seemed to be starting to notice that there was something odd about Soraya. Especially her face and the red marks around her neck. Of course that wasn't a good thing, Kerry immediately suspected that something bad had happened to Soraya. "What happened to-" Kerry who was trying to pay attention, immediately faced Soraya's cold attitude who just walked in past her without letting her finish speaking. Kerry was annoyed and Soraya realized it. But, right now she was in a phase where she didn't want to deal with anyone and anything. The unbearable pain she had previously felt, was getting more and more numb. Soraya stood in front of the mirror, took off her clothes and looked at herself in the mirror. Her body trembled, when she saw some bruises on her body. But, what made her even more tormented was when she remembered how that bastard looked at her body with those disgusting eyes. Tears welled up in her eyes, Soraya wept silently. She didn't move, she even stopped breathing for a few seconds. She didn't know what was going on in her head, everything felt empty. "What happened? Why do you look so messed up?" Kerry asked who was getting sick of the silence and awkwardness in this room. She didn't really care about Soraya, she didn't even care about the bruises or wounds on Soraya's body. She asked only to break this eerie silence. "I'm going to ask you one last time. Don't ever bring that bastard into this room again!" Soraya who was starting to be shrouded in darkness, boldly uttered words that sounded so threatening. Kerry who was still standing at the door looked very annoyed, as if she had the right to refuse Soraya's request. Kerry seems very confident that her crazy boyfriend will always be by her side to defend and protect her. She also seemed to know that Soraya was very afraid of Josh. Kerry considers that Soraya's fear is a weapon that she can use if at any time Soraya goes against her decision again. "Sorry, did I hear wrong? What did you say?" Shee said disparagingly. She held back her laughter, thinking that it was a very funny thing and deserved to be laughed at. Soraya who still hadn't moved from the mirror, was starting to lose her temper. She was so tired today, her body was so hurts and worst of all, a few hours ago she was locked up in a warehouse and r***d. What's worse for a girl when her pride is damaged by an irresponsible crazy man. "Are you deaf? It looks like your ears are filled with s**t. Don't ever bring your boyfriend into this room again. Do you understand?" Soraya said, raising her voice. "Tch, what's that? You're trying to threaten me? Who do you think you are?" "That bastard, if I see him again, I'm sure- I'll kill him for sure!" "What did you say? Bastard? How dare you say that to my Josh-" Kerry shouted. Tried to approach Soraya and attack her. However, before she could do that. Soraya looked back and gave her a look she would never want to see again in her life. Kerry stayed where she was, frozen and motionless. She shuddered, this frightened by the way Soraya looked at her. Kerry backed away slowly with a trembling body, hoping Soraya wasn't really serious. "If you insist, I will kill you!" *** "Ugh..." Soraya opened her eyes, as she felt her head touch the cold grass. When she opened her eyes, all she could see was the orange sky and the shadows of the pine trees that shaded it. Soraya lifted her head, she realized that she was sleeping under a large pine tree in the forest entrance area behind the dormitory building. However, one thing she didn't understand was why she could fall asleep in a place like this? "Why can I sleep here?" She muttered as she got up and tried to move her legs. Soraya was stunned, she felt something strange. She didn't feel any pain in her body. Though she firmly believed that just a moment ago, she was suffering so much from enduring pain all over her body. Tuk...tuk...tuk... There was a familiar sound of footsteps in her ears, the sound of mysterious footsteps that she did not know who belonged to him. She felt a strange atmosphere, a fear he couldn't understand. Her fear made her body reflexively look for a safe hiding place, after several times she was frightened every time she heard footsteps like this. Soraya hid herself behind a tree while peeking and finding out who was walking towards here. She swallowed so many times that her throat ached, hoping that the wait would pay off. However, when she started to be able to see who the figure was walking towards the forest with a very distinctive sound of footsteps. Soraya almost couldn't believe it. She saw Robert Stanley walking very quietly into the forest carrying a canvas covered with brown cloth. "Mr Stanley?" She thought. Suddenly, she remembered what David had said when she went to the police station that time. David said that Kimberly reported what she saw to the police. What she said was a man who went into the forest carrying a large object covered in brown cloth the day after Diana disappeared. Her body was shaking, her breath was getting short. She did not want to suspect that Robert Stanley's arrival into the forest had something to do with Diana's disappearance. Previously, she had met Robert several times in this forest. Even Robert promised to paint her and show the results of the painting when it was finished. Because of that, Soraya still thought that Robert's arrival in the forest was to paint as he did before. Soraya felt very scared, but at the same time, she also felt very curious. Although one side of her believed that Robert had nothing to do with Diana's disappearance, the other side of her began to believe that the man whose face looked pure had something to do with it. Unable to contain her curiosity, Soraya tried to sneak up on Robert and walked carefully behind him. Robert stopped only two meters from the shore of the lake where several white swans were swimming in the middle of the lake. Robert put the canvas in a standing position with the cloth still covering the entire surface of the canvas. Robert stood by the lake and stared at the lake for a minute, then picked up a small rock and threw it into the middle of the lake. Pluuukkk... The rock hit the surface of the water right near the startled geese and flew away. After that, Robert did nothing but stand and look at the lake. Soraya didn't know what he was actually doing, but right now Soraya was more curious about what was painted on the canvas. When the wind blows, the cloth covering the canvas slightly moves and shows the colors that stick to the white canvas. Soraya realized that it was not a blank canvas, melting there were already objects painted on the canvas. She was very curious and wanted to see the painting. But her current situation didn't allow her to come out of her hiding place and pull the covering. Soraya's attention was again distracted when Robert started walking towards the old boat perched on the shore of the lake, to the east of the lake. Robert got into the boat, he looked so calm as if this wasn't the first time he'd done it. He rowed the boat towards the old tree growing in the middle of the lake. He stopped pedaling his boat, stuck his hands in the water as if looking for something. Robert found a rope wrapped around a tree about 20 cm below the surface of the water. Robert untied the rope and then he seemed to be pulling something that seemed to be connected to the bottom of a deep lake. Soraya felt an increasingly tense atmosphere when she saw how Robert was pulling a rope that seemed to have quite a heavy burden. Something was sinking and tied to the rope, which somehow gave Soraya a very bad feeling. "Go before he finds you!" Instantly, Diana's cry of sorrow in her dream at that moment rang in her ears. Her body trembled as something started to appear on the surface of the water. Something wet and awful. Her eyes widened when she saw the shapeless human body bound with rope. A plain and naked body, long wet light brown hair. The strong wind blew and blew the brown cloth that covered the canvas. Showed her a painting she would never want to see in her life. A painting of a naked woman whose body is bound by rope. Soraya stood still, she felt as if time had stopped turning when she saw the figure of the woman in the painting. "Diana?" ***
