Soraya was stunned, she didn't expect David to think that she was so defending Robert Stanley. She didn't really understand that trying not to think badly of someone was a defense.
"David!" Soraya lowered her head. She didn't want to admit that she was just like a Robert Stanley fan who couldn't see reality.
"Yes? You want to say something?"
"Can you tell me where I went wrong?"
"What do you mean?"
"I thought that you looked at me like a rabid fan. Do I look like that?" Soraya asked. She refused to look into David's eyes and preferred to look the other way.
David sighed, actually he didn't think that Soraya was a fan who was blindly in love with her idol. In David's eyes, Soraya was nothing more than an innocent girl who fell in love for the first time. But, even though David could see the sign from her, he didn't have the courage to confirm it.
"I don't think so, nor do I really know if the rumors and news circulating are facts or just gossip. I can't be sure, so I understand what you think about him. You just don't want to misjudge someone, right?"
David smiled gently, just as Soraya who was taken aback by his words, lifted her head. Soraya felt a strange turmoil in her heart that she could not understand, a strange sense of sadness and relief. A feeling she had never felt before.
"You're right, I don't want to misjudge anyone. But it might as well be wrong."
"Why?"
"If she was Kim, she would probably say that I'm naive and can't judge objectively. She would definitely say that I was too rash."
"Hahaha... I think you're right! If she, I think I can guess what she's going to say. But I do think she's a little weird, don't you think so?"
"Weird?"
"Yeah, she's really weird. I'm not saying she's crazy or anything, but I think she hates Mr Stanley too much to corner him a lot. I know she hates men a lot, but I think she's a little too much."
"I don't understand, why she's acting like that either. It feels like she's had a bad experience with Mr Stanley."
"If I may give you a suggestion, you better not get too close to her!"
"W-why?"
"I can't say because I'm not quite sure yet, but I'm sure there's something wrong with her. That's why you should either keep your distance or be casual friends."
"You think that Kim is not a good person?"
"No! Or you could say I didn't say it!"
"What do you mean?"
"Look, a few days ago I ran into a friend of my cousin who came to Mancaster. He used to live in Bristol and he was Kimberly Walter's classmate in high school. He said Kim was a trouble maker and got suspended several times for fighting with some boys and also caught red-handed putting a small camera in the women's locker room."
"What? What does that mean?"
"I know this is shocking and I can hardly believe his story. But he gave me proof, a video of Kimberly's apology in the principal's office."
Soraya was silent, she was completely at a loss for words. Kimberly is a trouble maker and it's not something impossible considering her attitude so far. But, putting the camera into the girls' locker room? It felt really hard to believe.
"If it's a fight with a boy, I can believe it. But, put the camera in the locker room? Why would she do it?"
"I also don't know, but my he said Kim was bisexual, she had dated several guys just to blackmail them. But, according to one of her female friends, Kim once tried to kiss her and it ruined their friendship."
"Impossible-"
"Yeah, really hard to believe, isn't it?"
"I know Kim is a tough and brave girl, but to do that to her friend, I think it's too much."
"Hahaha... well as expected, you never immediately judge someone badly. I'm impressed with you, you know? You're a really good girl, Soraya!" David said with a gentle smile. Soraya was stunned, she felt the heat on her face.
She knew that David was only trying to compliment her, but being called a good girl, Soraya felt that was too much.
"I'm not that good."

"Are you sure this is the place?" David asked. His eyes glanced at every corner of the multi-storey building that looked like a scary old building in front of his eyes.
Beside him, Soraya seemed to be hiding her nervousness. Soraya opened her phone to confirm the address of the apartment she was looking for on the internet.
"Maybe because it's late, so this place looks unkempt." She said.
"Yeah, I hope you're right. We can look inside if you want!"
Soraya nodded and walked towards the door of the apartment building which only had five floors.
As soon as they entered, they were presented with a reality even more shocking than when they were still standing in front of this building.
The damp building and minimal lighting make this place unfit for habitation. David frowned, he shuddered, feeling the strange atmosphere around him.
The place is deserted, smells damp and not well lit. David thought that he would take Soraya's hand and take her away from this terrible place right now.
"We'd better go!"
"Why?"
"Why? You're still asking why? You want to live in a place like this?" David asked protesting. He didn't want to stay in this place any longer, even for a minute.
"We haven't even seen the room yet! At least we can check before we decide!"
"Are you really crazy? You can tell at a glance what the rooms are renting out! I'm sure this place is full of rats and cockroaches, that's why we have to go!"
"But-"
"Never mind! Come with me!" David annoyed, immediately grabbed Soraya's hand to take her away from this place.
In front of the door, a fat middle-aged man blocking them. The man stared with his hideous and strange eyes.
"Welcome? Are you guys looking for a room?"
