Soraya felt nervous, for some reason her feelings were uneasy. She knew this was one of her bad attitudes, which was overthinking. That was the reason why her parents were always worried about her.
Drrrttt ... drrrttt ...
Her phone vibrated, Soraya received an incoming message from Diana and Kimberly. It seems their conversation is still going on. Seeing how she and her new friends were able to get along quickly made her happy.
"Soraya, how is your roommate? Does she still not want to talk to you?" Diana asked. Soraya really did not expect that Diana would be so considerate like this.
"She really is like a mother." She thought. A smile broke on her lips.
"Yeah, we've been talking to each other. I'm heading to the mini market for dinner and snacks. Kerry even asked me to buy some stuff for him." She type it on the phone.
"Really? What are you grateful for then. I hope you two get to know each other better." Diana said, she even added a happy smiley emoticon to the message she sent.
"No no, that's not good. What the heck is that? Why would he just tell you to do that?" Unlike the super positive Diana, Kimberly is the exact opposite. She likes to be prejudiced and tends to be wary before deciding that something or someone is worthy of trust.
Reading the message that Kimberly sent made Soraya frown. She didn't know that for a Kimberly, asking someone she just met for help was forbidden.
"Do you mind? Isn't that normal?" Diana asked, just before Soraya asked the same thing.
"Wasn't he very quiet at first and wouldn't let you get close to him? So why did he suddenly become so familiar to you? This is strange, you have to be wary of her." Kimberly said.
Soraya confirmed what Kimberly said, when suddenly Kerry Smith spoke to her and asked her to buy something at the mini market. Soraya felt a little surprised, moreover a few minutes earlier it was very clear how the look on the girl's face, the blonde hair when Soraya accidentally saw her private object.
"Let me help!"
"No- no need, just let me-"
"It's okay, you can arrange your clothes in the closet. Let me clean this up!"
"Don't! Let me just-"
"But- "
Her mind immediately went to the moment where she did something stupid and acted familiar. Soraya felt very embarrassed and a little sorry for making such a bad first impression on her roommate.
"Huh ... I'm i***t! I'm really really stupid! Besides, why would I force myself to help him if he doesn't want to? Tsk, how pathetic I am!" She muttered as she walked into a mini market across from the campus dormitory.
"Welcome!" A young man with brown hair standing in front of the cash register greeted her with a smile.
Seeing the young man's face, Soraya gaped in confusion. She knew the handsome young man with a wide smile who was very friendly. To be honest she felt a little impressed, but seeing the uniform that the athletic young man was wearing, Soraya couldn't help but laugh.
"David? What are you doing here? Hahaha... your uniform? Could it be that you work in this shop?" Without thinking, Soraya immediately approached David who still hadn't let go of his sweet smile.
"Can I help you, Miss?" David asked, his eyes fixed on Soraya intensely. Seeing David's strange behavior made Soraya smile with amusement.
"Hahaha ... what got into you, huh?"
"As you can see, I work here. So, I can't help but behave like this to customers. Especially a very beautiful customer like you!"
"Are you teasing me?"
"Do you mind?"
"Hahahaha ... you're really funny! If Kimberly saw you here she would definitely pass out. Alright, I want to buy something. I'll be right back!" She said as he walked over to the shelf filled with bread.
"Okay, don't take too long! I'll be waiting for you here!"
"You don't have to wait for me!" Soraya said as she walked towards the food rack.
David couldn't hide his happy smile, it was his first day on the job and it didn't feel bad either. Meanwhile, Soraya returned to the cashier's desk to pick up some of the items she wanted, including the items ordered by Kerry Smith, her roommate.
"Hi, I'm back!" Soraya smiled awkwardly as she placed the basket on the table. Her sweet smile made David blush. Even though Soraya didn't realize it, it was enough to make the young man in front of her feel palpitated.
David put the items Soraya bought on the table before counting them and putting them in a plastic bag. Although his hands worked deftly, his eyes remained fixed on the young woman standing in front of him.
"So, how's your roommate? No complaints, right?" David asked, apparently he was quite curious about what happened to Soraya after reading a message in the group chat that somehow made him join without him knowing.
"You're already in the group, huh? I didn't think you wanted to too!"
"Actually I'm not really interested, but since you also joined. So what can I do." David said. He stated frankly that Soraya was his reason for joining the chat group which only consisted of five members.
Soraya choked before bursting into laughter at David's answer. Although it was funny to him, but her insensitivity made her unable to respond to David's jokes as she should.
"Hahahaha ... you really want to make me laugh, huh?"
"Not really! It's just that you seem like the type to laugh easily, don't you?"
"Hum ... you're saying I have a bad sense of humor, are you?"
"Possible!"
"You annoying! Ok, how much did I spend in total?" She asked with a frown. It made her look even more adorable in David's eyes.
"Hahaha ... 12 Pounds in total, any other additions, Miss Soraya Chamberlain?"
"No thanks! Here's the money and keep the change. See you later?" Soraya handed the money into David's hands before walking away carrying two plastic bags.
"Hey, no change!"
"Is that so? Hahaha..."
Bruukkk...
Her laughter stopped as her head and body bumped into someone in front of her. The reckless Soraya again made the same mistake.
"I- I'm sorry! I really didn't mean- " Her words stopped when she saw who was standing in front of her.
Soraya's eyes widened and she naturally took a few steps back. She was lost for words because this is the second time she bumped into and passed the same person who was very cold and super mysterious lecturer, Robert William Stanley.
"Looks like you do have a habit of walking in an abnormal way, huh?" Robert asked with his sharp eyes and able to make someone in front of him tremble.
"I'm sorry, Sir! I'm really sorry!"
