Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
Clouds high over the rainbow, makes all your dreams come true
Manchester, England, 21 September 2017
Tititt ... titttit ... tititt
Her eyes opened immediately, heard the sound of the alarm clock that has been sounding since five minutes ago.
"Hoaaam ..." Soraya yawned widely while scratching her itchy head. Sunlight entered through the gap in her bedroom window. Silence, all that could be heard was the sound of the wind and the chirping of birds perched on the balcony posts.
It took seven minutes for Soraya to collect her life, her habit of sleeping a lot and being difficult to wake up was what made it difficult for her mother to let her go to college in a place far from home. Moreover, Soraya is not an independent girl who is used to being far from her parents.
Her nose tried to sniff out the scent of breakfast that mom used to make every morning. The sweet aroma of the pancakes, the bread that has just been cooked from the oven, or the savory aroma of the meat omelette, is not at all felt.
"Plaaakkk ..." Soraya slapped her own cheek to bring her back from the groin.
Mom wouldn't wake her up every morning or make breakfast for her anymore. It might sound sad, but that's what Soraya had to deal with as an overseas student.
Drrrrttt ... drrrrttt ...
Her phone vibrated. Seeing the name printed on the phone screen spontaneously made Soraya's eyes open wide.
"Yes, Mom? What's wrong?"
"What's wrong, huh? Still asking? Surely you just woke up?"
"Hehehe..."
"Oh my God, this girl! See, what time it is?"
"Um ... seven o'clock!" She replied, looking at the clock on the table.
"Seven o'clock, huh? What time is first class today?"
"Eight thirty ..."
"It's eight thirty and you wake up at seven? This girl, hurry up and take a shower!" Mother shouted in a loud voice which made Soraya immediately put the cellphone away from her ear.
Hearing mother's anger even though she was not there, still made Soraya feel discouraged. Mother was a very talkative and extremely disciplined woman. No one dared to oppose the mother, including her father.
Soraya went straight to the bathroom, turned the shower on, and let the warm water soak over her body. This is the second mistake Soraya has made since deciding to study in Manchester, away from her family who live in Inverness.
The first mistake occurred when she arrived late in the student orientation period because she overslept. Unmitigated, Soraya was nearly three hours late and the second, maybe it will happen today. The day she officially became a student at the art faculty majoring in fine arts.
Five seconds after her feet stepped out of the bathroom, her phone rang again and the incoming call came from the same person, namely the mother.
"Yes Mom, I've finished taking a shower. If you keep calling, when will I finish?"
"What's the first class today?"
"Painting, why?"
"It's okay, don't forget to eat breakfast cereal that I kept in plastic. The air is cold, don't forget to wear a jacket and thick socks!"
"Yes, Mom!"
"One more message from Dad, hanging out with good friends. Your father is afraid you will be bullied by flirtatious men!"
"Dad, this campus is not a shopping center, who will bother me?"
"Oh yes, Daniel said he will use your room as long as you are not there!"
"What? why did you let it? He could ruin my painting, Mom! just tell him to sleep in his room!"
"I told him, but he didn't want to. He said there was no need to worry, he wouldn't damage your painting. Well, you better get ready. Study hard, I alwals pray for you!"
"Thank you, Mom. Tell Dad, I miss him so much!"
"Yes, I'll tell you later. Your father just left!"
"See you later, Mom?"
"See you later, my dear!"

The time showed 8.25 minutes and that means there are only five minutes left to immediately arrive at her first class. Soraya ran as fast as she could, where the distance from the dormitory to the arts faculty was up to 300 meters, a distance that was tiring enough to run.
Not to mention the books in her hand that added to the burden, making Soraya dazed. Today is the first day of studying in class, but she has experienced this. If she was really late today, she could be sure that Soraya would get the title of "Late girl" in her class, even in the arts faculty.
Bruuukkk
Because she was too hasty, Soraya unconsciously hit a man who was walking in the opposite direction.
"Ouch ... it hurts ..." She muttered, moaning as her butt hit the floor hard.
"Are you okay?" The man who collided with her immediately got up and stretched out his hand to help Soraya.
"Ah ... thank you, I should, wow handsome!" She said who was immediately stunned to see the face of heaven that was clearly visible in front of her eyes.
"What?"
"Ah ... no- nothing ..." Soraya smiled awkwardly, but her eyes were still focused on the handsome face of this man.
'How beautiful' that sentence appeared in her mind. Very sharp and clear blue eyes, shiny black hair, tall and athletic body. Is this figure really human?
The man looked at Soraya in confusion, but it seemed, he quite understood why this girl kept looking at him like that and all he did was remain silent as if he didn't care.
"These books are yours?" The man asked after picking up Soraya's books which were scattered on the floor.
"Ah ... yes, thank you very much!"
"Be careful next time!" Said the man as he walked back.
"Go- good bye." Soraya was nervous and subconsciously waved her hand.
"Haaah, is there anything like that here?" She muttered, still complacent.
"What do I do?" After realizing that she had lost a lot of time and this time, it was certain that Soraya would be late.
"I- I'm sorry," She exclaimed as she opened the classroom door.
Soraya who is terrified doesn't realize that even in this class, no lecturer has come yet. All eyes were on her, looking at her with the thought that the figure who entered hastily was the same person during orientation.
"You're in the way!" Said someone standing behind her. Spontaneously, Soraya immediately looked back, to see who was the one who was late besides her.
"Ah, he?" She thought as her eyes caught the cool-faced figure she had collided with five minutes ago.
The man looked at Soraya with a look that was difficult to understand, even though he was stunned. But it can't be denied, Soraya felt a little scared by the look in his eyes.
"Why are you daydreaming?"
"I'm sorry," She said and immediately stepped her feet towards the place where the students sat and watched.
"Pssstt ... Soraya!" Diana waving her hand. She coded Soraya to take the place beside her.
Feeling that there was no time for pleasantries, Soraya immediately walked over to Diana and sat beside her with a sense of relief.
"You almost were late!" Whispered Diana.
"Hehehe ..."
In front of the class, the figure that Soraya thought was her classmate, remained standing and put the books he was carrying on the lecturer's table.
"So, not a student, huh?" Soraya thought.
"Good morning!" Said the man greeted. But what was strange, his expression was flat and cold.
Soraya swallowed hard, even though she looked extraordinarily attractive. The atmosphere that he shows tends to be mysterious and a little dark.
"Cool!" Diana muttered. Hearing Diana praise the man, Soraya immediately turned her head and looked at Diana who looked so stunned. Soraya realized something after she glanced at her classmates. Most even the average woman looked at that figure with sparkling eyes and a smile full of admiration.
"Good morning, Sir!" Said all the students in the class. Without further ado, the man took one of the books he was carrying and a marker from the table.
"Today I will explain what the meaning of painting, maybe most of you already know. But there's nothing wrong with repeating it!" he said.
"Waaahhh ..." All the girls including Soraya felt the same way. After hearing the man utter a longer sentence, that admiration doubled.
His voice was heavy and deep, a color that would make women fall asleep when he heard him speak. Sexy, maybe that's the right word if you see the eyes and hear his voice.
"Um ... sorry Sir, but we don't know your name!" Abigail asked. It would be a lie, if she admitted she didn't know the man's name. Even though it is a new student, knowing the name of the lecturer who will teach in class is mandatory. But of course, Abigail had other intentions because they wanted the man to introduce himself directly to the class.
The man walked over to the blackboard and began to write something down. It was strange, everyone felt their palpitations as if they were waiting for something they had been so waiting for.
"Robert William Stanley." Everyone read the writing on the blackboard.
"Robert, huh? So his name is Robert. Oh yeah, I've heard of that name. Turns out he's the person? Great, a lecturer as cool as this teaches in our class!" Soraya thought. Her enthusiasm increased rapidly to realize that there were young lecturers teaching their class.
"Any questions?" Asked the man still with a flat expression.
"Um ... if we may know. How old are you, Sir?" Asked Sandra sheepishly. Looks like she's been waiting for a question and answer moment like this.
"I'm 31 years old,"
"Still young."
"You, the one who was late. Come here!" he said, staring at Soraya sharply.
"Haaah? me- me, Sir?"
"Yes, come here!"
"We- well." Soraya got up anxiously. She has already been summoned to the front of the class.
"Ouch ... why is this? What's my fault?" Soraya thought. Her nervousness intensified when she was standing one meter in front of the lecturer.
"Draw this pattern!" He said showing a picture of the book he was holding.
"Ye- yes, Sir!"
