Secretly stalking Mariana.

At Mariana's company
It's lunch break already and Gerald had just knocked on the door of Mariana's office. She calls him in and smiles when she sees who it was.
He tells her that he came to pick her up for lunch as he had already mentioned. She shuts down her laptop, arranges her files and desks before standing up to meet him.
They step out of her office and she tells her PA that she's going for lunch and also advises her to take a break. Yolanda decides to join them for lunch and they all step into the elevator together.
As they enter the cafeteria, the murmurs begin again and people begin pointing their hands and whispering. Mariana wonders if they never have any other better thing to do than gossip.
She ignores them as she, Yolanda and Gerald get the meals and settle on an empty table.
They make small talk and converse as they eat. They get to learn details about themselves and know each other better.
As they are talking a young man walks up to their table. They look up and he introduces himself as Jake and asks to sit with them.
They agreed as there was an empty seat beside Yolanda. He settles down beside her and addresses Mariana. Jake says he heard about the impressive woman that was able to secure a seat among the directors.
He says literally the same thing Gerald said: that he was intrigued on hearing about her and came to see for himself this intelligent woman. Who knows maybe her intelligence might rub off on him, he says.
She laughs and says that she was not expecting that as it was obvious she was not really liked in this part of town. He smiles and says that she should not be bothered.
People will always talk and soon something else will happen and they will move on to it. She thanks him and he turns to Yolanda and compliments her on her outfit. Yolanda blushes and avoids eye contact with him as Mariana and Gerald look on.
Mariana and Gerald turn to look at each other and conclude that there was definitely history between both of them.
They continue with their meal as they converse and soon lunch break is over. As they enter the company building, they split up to their respective offices where Mariana and Yolanda go together.
They say their farewell and hope to meet later.
As they enter the elevator, Mariana teases Yolanda about Jake. Yolanda blushes profusely and tells Mariana to stop which Mariana does but promises to ask her about it later.
As they step out of the elevator, Yolanda stops at her desk while Mariana moves on inside her office. As she's about settling down, Yolanda knocks and she tells her in. Yolanda tells her that security dropped a package for her.
Mariana tells Yolanda to bring the package in and Yolanda goes to get it. As Yolanda goes to stop , Mariana wonders who it was from. Her first guess is Cole but she just curbs the thought down and waits for Yolanda to be back with the package. Yolanda is soon back and brings in the package.
It was a food tray and there was a card attached to it.
Just in case you are too busy to step out for lunch.

Yolanda reads the content of the card out loud and smiles smugly at Mariana. Mariana laughs and asks her what sort of look that is.
Yolanda says that they have been settled and she finally has what to tease Mariana too about. They both share a laugh. Mariana decided to keep the food tray aside as she was still slightly full and decided to eat it later.
She stops Mariana away as she is still trying to tease her and tells her to get back to her desk. Yolanda told her to stop being shy before stepping out. Mariana laughs heartily and shakes her head before going back to work.
They work for a while before Yolanda knocks again. Mariana lets her in. As Yolanda steps in, she informs Mariana that she had been summoned with other directors to the conference room by the branch manager immediately.
Mariana gets up, picks her laptop just in case and begins to move to the conference room with Yolanda following behind her with a notepad.
They get to the conference room to see other directors already and some yet to come and the branch manager nowhere in sight. They both take their seats next to each other as they wait for the other directors and branch manager.
The conference is soon filled up with everyone in attendance. The branch manager enters last and the door is shut. The directors rise as he makes his way to his seat as a sign of respect.
Everyone takes back their seats as soon as he sits.
The branch manager first apologizes for the impromptu meeting and goes ahead to tell them the reason they were asked to be there.
He says that they were at the verge of closing a deal with the Greg's, a company that they had always wanted to partner with and that they would be sending their representative to check out the company and sign the paperwork.
So each director was going to prepare a good presentation based on the section they were heading on that day and also make sure to convince the representative not to draw back their investment as this would be a good turn out for the branch.
As the branch manager concluded his speech, he asked if anyone else had something to offer to which the directors refused.
He then signaled the close of the meeting by getting up and leaving first with his PA and secretary following closely behind him.
The directors then began leaving the conference room. Mariana and Yolanda soon went back to their office to continue working and to begin preparations for the presentation.
At Cole office
Lucas steps into Cole's office to relay the information from the bodyguard that was placed to discreetly watch and protect Mariana.
The bodyguard had just informed Lucas of the lady that had purposefully crashed into Mariana the day before, about the hate she was receiving and the people she spoke to in the office, that is Gerald, Yolanda and Jake.
As Lucas tells Cole about the hate and the lady that crashed into Mariana, Cole is immediately pissed off and asks Lucas to make a research on her.
When he hears that Mariana had lunch with Gerald, he flares up. He concludes that Mariana declined his lunch offer to instead go out and have lunch with someone else, a guy for that matter.
He thinks about confronting Mariana about her lying to him about her staying in to eat. He is about calling her number when Lucas advises him not to as he might scare Mariana and she might get offended about the fact that he was monitoring her movements. He calms down a bit and takes Lucas's advice.
Cole still decides to call her. Mariana picks up and Cole asks her if she had gotten the food tray and if she had eaten.
She replies that she had already had lunch with her PA and a few office friends and would eat the food he sent later on. She thanks him for the kind gesture and apologizes for not calling him as soon as she got it because she had an impromptu.
She goes on to say that the meeting was no excuse as she got back a while ago but either way, she was sorry for not calling. Cole laughs at her blabbing and says that it was fine and that it didn't matter anymore.
They talk for a while and she asks about the meeting he had with his workers. Cole replies that the meeting went well and thanks her for how thoughtful she was.
She says he was more thoughtful than her for having sent the food tray for her just because he thought she was not going out for lunch. Mariana thanks him again.
He decides to let her go back to work and not take anymore of her time as he was sure that she still had work to do. She tells him that she had a presentation to prepare for.
He tells her not to stress herself too much and she tells him to take his own advice too that as the CEO of his company he had a greater workload than her.
He agrees to that and they both share a laugh before hanging up. Cole is relieved that she didn't lie to him and tells Lucas to also do his research on the guy Mariana had lunch with, Gerald.
Lucas tells Cole that there were two guys with Mariana and Cole tells him to research on both of them. Lucas leaves to follow the order.
