Ghenn waited for her to release his mind. There seemed to be a moment"s delay, as if she was suddenly reluctant to return his power to him. A moment of disorientation followed; he saw familiar grey stone walls and a spiral staircase, heard the chanting from the nearby Heartroom. Then he was lying on the ground in Darklands, his shoulder uncomfortable from his fall, his face raw from the heat of the Sgurrdach"s immolation, but otherwise unharmed. Quickly now, he stood up and surveyed the scene. He could see no other creatures. There were only the broken boulders and tree stumps scattered around and, here and there, wisps of smoke rising up from the ground.
