Present
Ada trudged through the tall grass.
She was sure she had made it undetected into the country side.
She was no walking through a field of tall grass. On the other side were a grove of trees, she thinks there’s a farm house on the other side of the trees but she’s not sure.
As she neared the trees, she looked at how thick they were, and decided they would be a perfect spot to conceal her while she stopped and rested.
She walked up to a tree, turned and leaned against it while sliding down it.
When her butt hit the ground, she burst into tears.
Her situation finally hit her.
He was trying to find her.
He was going to kill her.
The man she thought that loved her, wants to murder her after all.
The man doesn’t love her.
The man she has come to love, doesn’t love her.
She buried her head in her arms on her knees and sobbed.
She was finally realizing what her heart held for him.
At the exact time his true heart was now revealed, too.
It seems that love will always escape her grasp.
She had no love in her home.
She had no love in her bedroom.
And she’ll never have love in her arms.
All she’ll have are her friends.
Ever.
As she let exhaustion take over, she let determination and bitterness take over her heart.
