The school bell goes for recession and it was Darla's first that at school. When she first stepped into the class Julian Manson had approached her to compliment her curly long hair. No one had so beautiful hair in the whole school. "Can you sell to me some of your curly hair?" Julian teased. Seeing the expression on Darla's face. She seemed lost and didn't realize why no one glanced at her except Julian. The class remained still as everyone was focussing on their maths. "Can we get to the cafeteria? Don't worry I will be your friend. I hope you don't mind." "No. Not at all. I don't." They strolled down to the cafeteria to find a hall jammed with several students who queue to have their meal from the counter. "What will you like to take?" Julian asked who was starting at the trodding foot of a guy behind her. "Ooh! Sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your foot." He apologized. "I had just wanted to say hi, to my friend, Julian." "Aww! Sorry, Darla. Moreno can be naughty times. Anyway, meet my bestie. Darla." "Moreno meet my newfound friends whom I got freely about her hair." "Nice to meet you, Darla. Guess you are new to our school?" "No---not really. Yeah." Darla stammered. " I had to switch school didn't like my old school." Darla lied. She knew no one most realize her real identity or she is dead. The members of the Woods pack strongly detest anyone from the Silver Crest pack. Darla's attention was on the meal after she had responded to Moreno. She didn't want him to ask her more questions due to her stuttering. The way the sunlight came through the window made Darla's hair look like it was on fire. Her hair was red normally, but in the sun it glow. She wasn’t looking, thank God—if she was looking she would have noticed Moreno staring at her. He didn’t mean to stare at her—he never did—but she was so beautiful he just couldn’t help it. She didn’t have to put in much effort to catch his attention. Her hair was usually a mess, probably because she had more hair than she knew what to do with. She’d pulled half of it back into a bun, just to get it out of her face, but locks were falling into her eyes, and she kept tucking them behind her ears to get them out of her way. Moreno had to stop himself from thinking about tucking those locks of hair behind her ears for her. Darla was gorgeous, and he was in deep admiration. "By the way what do you care for Moreno?" Julian asked. He peeps at the food menu, "Our pack's favorite meal you know. A whole roasted hog and garlic sauce with pepper. I feel like running wide into the woods at noon, so I hope to get some energy from the yummy meal." He chuckled before turning to Darla, "I will need two full plates?" "For what?" Julian asked, surprised why he would demand that from Mr. Oliver, the cafeteria chef. "Come on, I was going take both full plates. One will be for Darla." He said. Darla's eye bulged. She is never conversant with such a meal. It was never their pack's kind of meal. If she try to eat from it she would get an allergy. She knew. Wiggling the tip of her hair, "I would have just coffee." "Coffee! Why?" Don't like the food on today's menu that's everyone's favorite meal in the pack." "I do. I know but I don't feel like eating huge at moment. I hope you can understand." Julian glances at Moreno narrowing her eyelid. They both can't get over the fact that she is the only one in the whole school who is not interested in the menu for the day. "How about having a little chunk?" Moreno persuaded. "I will be fine with coffee. Thank you." Darla smiles to cool off the atmosphere. The eating at their table was silent. Everyone focused on their meal so was Darla who sipped slowly her cup of coffee. "Can you guys excuse me I need to use the lavatory?" Moreno said. He adjusted to the table carefully before skinning his way to empty his bladder. He had just arrived when she noticed domes were behind him. "What! You should have stayed with Darla, I was going back in a jiffy. You know she is new to the school and can be exposed to some perverts guys because barely know her way around." "I know Moreno but I smell foul." "Why wouldn't you smell such you are at toilet young lady." "Don't be a pain, Moreno. You don't need to remind me of that, I knew where I was and that was not what I meant. I was referring to the new girl Darla." Julian leaves a straight face. "Okay. What about her?" "There is something not right about her. She is not like the normal pack member." "Normal you say? How do you mean?" Moreno is startled by Julian's statement, "Do you have any finding of her that been a new girl at the pack academy?" "Yeah sure. I do." He gazed at Julian after her response, "What is that?" "It is strange she doesn't eat the pack favorite meal." "Come on Julian, I feel she didn't feel like and nothing more to that. She is from our pack." "No! I don't think she is." Julian yelled but had to make her voice much low on a second thought another student might think there was a fight ongoing. "I am sorry for raising my voice that high. All I was saying was that she looks strange to me." "Well, strange you say. Everyone is unique you know." He pulled open the toilet door stepping out. Julian was already uncomfortable after she had caught Moreno her bestie, staring at Darla so enthusiastically. She had begun to suspect he was liking her and that was never going to happen no one will take her bestie from her not even her new friend Darla. She had planned to keep Moreno as her bestie until she can lure Prince Aiden to fall in love with her but until that happens Moreno had no right to look at any other girls except her.
