I got up and my helmet was able to break the spell she had cast. I summoned my fantasy dark hand and caught her by the neck and I had her struggling to escape. I had her in the air.
" I... I am Perdivacx. Prince of Lantanum."
"Perdivacx? It's me."
The grip was getting tighter and tighter. She was having a hard time trying to breathe.
"It's me... Carina."
I could see her crying but I could not control myself. One of her teardrops touched my dark hand and I had to let her go. I felt her tears burning the helmet and it was almost peeling off. It took control again and I had her pinned to the wall. I could not stop myself. She had to fight back so she summoned her 'third eye.'
" You are not yourself Perdivacx."
I was grunting and wailing in the air. She had wrapped her third eye around me and I could not move. She raised herself to my level and she looked me in the eye. She could see the real Perdivacx trapped behind the skull of the Pantheris. She brought her hand closer and she slowly touched the skull. The size of the skull was reducing bit by bit and I was gaining control over myself but...The skull was too powerful. I felt like I was being pulled back. I saw myself escape the third eye and the skull echoed out the 'signal' which was a scream to alert the troops to attack. They took out their tlides; that was what we called our pixel distorters. They were firing at where we were. Wait ... what were they doing. They were shooting us both. I was able to sway left and right trying to dodge their shots but Carina wasn't doing too well. She was trying her best but one of the shots hit her knee. She screamed and plummeted to the ground clutching onto her knee. Instantly the skull fell off and I was back to my normal senses. I cast an earth wall before us and I went running to her.
"Carina! Carina. I am sorry sorry. I'm sorry for everything. Please forgive me. Am sorry. I did not have control... that... that thing."
I was tearing up trying to carry her in my arms.
"Perdivacx, you don't have to apologize. I could see the real you trapped behind that thing."
She held my right cheek in her palm and rubbed her thumb over it to wipe off the tears.
"I missed you so much."
While we were busy doing all of this, the troops were almost down breaking the wall I had put up. I had to act fast. I opened a portal below us and we teleported to my room back in Lantanum. I put her on the bed gently like a feather and closed the portal.
"You are hurt."
"No... No, I am fine."
She tried to get up but the pain was unbearable. She let out a huge scream.
"Oh no!The guards as well as Eridanus will be here in a sec to see where the scream came from. Here..."
I put my finger at the edge of her wound and I cast the Healer's Plum. It acted like a string used to seal up wounds, only that this time it would repair the wound faster.
"Okay, where to hide you? Aha! Go through this portal," I said opening a portal behind her.
"But where will it take me."
"Nowhere!"
"What! That's your great idea?"
"You didn't let me finish. Go through it then go around the portal."
"Are you mad?"
"Maybe."
"Have you ever tried it before?"
"Nope."
I could hear Eridanus knocking on the door.
"Go. Now!"
She tippy-toed through the portal and I could see her slowly disappear to the left . I opened the door and let Eridanus in.
"My lord, I heard you scream."
"Yes. I was just letting out my anger."
"What are you doing home? I thought you were leading the raid."
"I just came back for the skull of the Pantheris."
"Oh! I understand."
I'll be leaving now."
I had one foot in the portal when Eridanus...
"We have to talk when you get back my prince. It is about your father. I'm afraid something bad has happened to him."
I dropped my helmet or skull or mask... at this point I don't even know.I dashed and held Eridanus by the neck and we took off to the skies.
"What did you do to my father?!"
He knocked my hands off his neck. I let him go. He made chains appear from the ground. They pinned me down.
"My prince, you need to relax.I didn't do anything to him. He just went to the Lossom's Keep and never came back."
I was depressed and fuming at the same time. I felt weak so I summoned the skull of the Pantheris. I let it take control since I didn't know what to do. On contact with my face, the portal closed and I could hear Carina scream. I couldn't help. I wasn't myself anymore. I broke out of the chains and I dashed out to the Lossom's Keep. When I got there, the skull came right off. The Lossom's Keep was said to be the most peaceful place on the planet. Everyone could access it but only few could reach the stream. It was guarded by Casilym (a dog of sorts) that could kill anyone who tried trespassing.
I walked past the pillars that held the barricade that guarded the stream. Then, I could hear heavy breathing and panting. It stood right before me. You have to be kidding me. I have to fight that? But it is so adorable. I tried patting the little fella and that's when things got out of hand. It became bigger and it was out for blood. It had blade-like structures on its back. It also had wings and it was long-toothed. We got into a gruesome fight but due to my immortality, I was fine. It took me forty minutes to realize that this dog was unmatchable. Then it came to me,a story mother always told me about a dog and how she used to play with the dog to calm it down. I realized that she was talking about this dog. I wasn't really sure but I had to try.
"Sit!"
And the dog sat. I couldn't believe my eyes. This dog was made to kill and devour but a simple 'sit' would calm it down?
"Good boy. Now roll over. There you go."
I fed him one of the spirits from my spirit pouch. In our world, a warrior would always get rewarded with the spirit of whoever they killed. The treat was able to calm the dog down to the size of a cow. I then left it and walked up to the stream. The tides began to rise. In my mind I was singing a song but I could still hear a soft voice singing as well.
"And now your song is on repeat..."
"And am dancing on, to your heart beat. And when you are gone I feel incomplete..."
"Who's there? Show yourself."
The waters began to rise as droplets and they formed a figure of a creature that looked like a demon. I knew this creature. It was...
