Chloe’s pov The gates of Red Moon rose up in front of me just as the last light was fading from the sky, and I'd never been so relieved to see them. The journey felt like it had aged me, my whole body sore from the road and the fight and everything I'd said to Hudson that still sat heavy in my chest. I didn’t think I was capable of defending myself but I did and I was damn proud of it. All my life, I allowed people do whatever they wanted to me because I was powerless but when it came down to defending my mother, I would go all out for her.
