You are a disgrace to our family!
Mother I have done nothing wrong!
Nothing? You call this nothing? YOU MARRIED A GOOD FOR NOTHING WARLOCK FOR THAT BASTARD CHILD!
Suddenly instead of darkness I was surrounded by white light. This white light didn’t resemble peace or bliss instead it was the kind of light that sears into your retinas through closed eyelids making you squint your closed eyes in fear of being permanently blind; the light so bright that it would make fresh snow look grey and dull. Its brightness was made to rival the sun itself. The light along with a whirring sound woke me up. It was hard to fight the brightness and open my eyes, but I conquered another impossible task. Something I tend to do a lot these days.
My mind was racing and trying to remember what I heard and saw while I was out. Who was screaming and at who? Why are warlocks bad? Who married a warlock? I was more confused as there were only questions being piled upon one another and I was getting no answer. It was frustrating that all I can do till now is fight a wentiko, cry and faint. At this rate I will never find my origin or anything about my birth parents.
I laid still on the cold floor, making sense of where I was and how I got here. Everything was fuzzy and my attention span surprisingly reduced even more. My eyes kept drifting from one place to another, never spending 3 minutes staring at one place. Eventually I got tired of laying back and staring at expensive chandelier and got up. After struggling with my footing while getting up I instantly leaned against the wall forcing all my weight on it because of the dizziness. As soon as I stood up my vision darkened again. I forced myself not to faint and closed my eyes to clear out the dark spots from my vision.
Once when I didn’t feel like fainting, I opened my eyes and looked around instantly remembering that I was in the kid’s place. I looked around and didn’t find any sign of life. I walked a little further, still leaning against the wall for my dear life. As I got close to the kitchen, I left the wall and clenched onto the edge of kitchen counter. My head whiplashed as I heard groaning sound, scared that another wentiko came inside the house to attack. Fortunately, it was the kid. Him and Carter were both laying on the floor. Carter was very unconscious while the kid was moving and groaning indicating the pain he was going through. I slowly limped towards the kid who was fighting the brightness of the atmosphere. Walking towards him and standing over his struggling figure I shielded his sight from the bright light. Eventually the kid opened his eyes completely and looked at me.
I gave him my hand to hold on and he kept eyeing me.
“I am not going to kill you so calm down.” I said rolling my eyes and the kid held my hand and pulled himself up. I instantly regretted being chivalrous as my world spun out of control by helping him up on his feet.
“why is the world spinning and………yellow?” before I could attack the floor one more time the kid held me and helped my lay on the couch.
“leave me kid, go help carter. I will be fine.”
“Will you stop calling me kid? I am Alexander.”
“Like Alexander the great?” Carter asked from behind me. I turned to look at Carter who now was standing and looking way better than me. He was looking around the place with mouth wide open. We ever never rich. I wasn’t on Carter’s level as his financial condition was better than mine so a location like this made people like us star struck.
I also didn’t look around as I entered this house only for one purpose and that was to protect this kid however looking at it now while laying down, I can tell that this house was magnificent. It was like a mini castle. All that was visible for my sight was a living room and a kitchen. The rest was hidden upstairs. The way to tell that this house was designed by rich people was the chandelier on top of our heads and the carpeted stairs what had shiny jewels on the railings.
Even though all three of us fainted at the same time it looked to me that I was the most affected person out of three of us. Carter looked absolutely fine whereas Alexander was getting better every second. On the other hand, I felt like my energy was completely drained and it was matter of time I will stop functioning completely.
Alexander was beside me with a glass of some yellow brownish liquid.
“Not drinking that”
“C’mon you will feel better. Its like honey. You need all the energy you can get right now.” Alexander drank a little from it showing that it wasn’t poison that I feared it to be. I held the glass in my shaking hands and drank from it quickly trying my best not to let it sit in my mouth because of the horrible taste and smell. Alex out of thin air produced a t-shirt and handed it to Carter who was shocked and scared to wear a magically appeared item.
“Yeah like Alexander the great.” Alexander finally responded to Carter “Anyway I am a little confused. I saw what you can do, and I also heard about it.” The boy added and proceeded to ignore Carter. He gave me his full attention and I felt beyond nervous being questioned by a 17-year-old kid.
“yeah Izzy! That was scary 'fear me because I would too' I almost peed my pants.” Carter said mimicking my voice.
“I don’t sound like that and I don’t really remember saying that or going all macho.” I chuckled really embarrassed. I know letting my body take over saved our assess but Ophelia didn’t really have to go beyond by saying all that.
I eyed the glass of whatever Alexander made me drink as I was surprisingly feeling much better. More energetic and less faint-y. Although what I kept wondering is why is he helping? Why waste all the good resource on a stranger rather than letting them heal naturally? Alexander’s next question made me wary and I also got my answer to my unsaid question. Of course, for me to get talking he had to heal me a little and get my energy to average level.
“Never mind the fearing part. I am more interested in curse and blessed part. You took chaos and mistress earth’s name without any fear. You also mentioned Ophelia. I am not liking this. Who are you?” Alexander walked towards me and I was doing my best not to show my cat eyes because I had a feeling, I would get attacked by him.
“I told you. I don’t remember saying any of that. So, I don’t know what you are talking about.” I said getting up from the couch and walking out of his line of sight.
“I know what I heard.” Out of nowhere he was in front of me and as his eyes landed on my eyes he gasped.
