Shen stood by the rails of the ship, waiting impatiently to go ashore as it finished docking at Avesto. Lara, Edwin and Janek stood with him. They were all survivors of a volcanic eruption that had occurred over eleven years ago. The moment Shen had turned fifteen he’d begun to follow the Battle Circuit, to earn enough money to travel Rimalis, so he could find the family he’d lost during the eruption. He’d told his rescuers he was a prince and since Rimalis hadn’t had royalty for seven centuries that didn’t give him much to go on.
“What’s the plan?” Lara asked as they left the ship. She was the oldest at sixteen and sister to Edwin. Her sharp green eyes darted everywhere, her sandy blond hair drawn back into a ponytail.
