I could hear Colette’s quiet breathing from the reading nook upstairs, and I couldn’t help but feel relieved. She was resting.
I probably should have gone to wake her, but I definitely could use the time to made some calls.. and process what I’d overheard between her and her friend.
She probably didn’t know I could hear that far. I had put up the award this morning when Marie called me back— I’d told her whatever means necessary, and I meant it. I’d answer for that later, but judging by Colette’s reaction, I didn’t think she’d try to scold me for it.
