When I started to wake up the next morning, I didn’t dare move. I woke up in a cloud of pure bliss. I could feel Jax’s arms around me, his hand playing with my hair. I could feel his quiet breathing. I thought it had to be morning, too, because I could hear seagulls squawking outside of the loft’s small window. Carefully, I inhaled deeply through my nose, trying to burn his scent into my memory forever. I never wanted to leave this moment. I felt like if I moved a finger, if I opened my eyes.. reality would settle back over us, like a storm cloud waiting ominously in the distance. So I didn’t move. I laid there for a long time— I don’t know if Jax knew I was awake and was just letting me have my moment, or if he genuinely thought I was sleeping— but I was grateful, nonetheless. How
