I knew my decision had shocked my warriors and the entire pack. I could see it in their faces, hear it in their whispered conversations. But that had always been my goal from the first moment I'd set eyes on Clara, bleeding and broken in my territory.
Even before I'd known she was my mate, something about her had called to me. The way she'd fought to survive when most would have given up. The fire in her eyes despite her injuries. The strength that radiated from her even in her weakest moment.
