I hadn't been able to focus in my classes all day with my dad's words about making things right with Laya ringing in my head. We don't have any of the same classes but I was desperate to bump into her. She left before I was able to get her phone number during our last encounter. The last time I'd run into her, I didn't pay attention to what building she'd come from or was actually going towards. I was kicking myself for that now. Our bond wasn't strong enough for me to find her across campus, but I'm sure Bain could smell her if she was close enough or had been recently.
Just as I was getting up to rush out of this last class, Bain stopped me in her tracks. I hadn't just yet but he definitely smelled her.
