Ever since Laya said her parents were coming to visit earlier, I'd been on edge a bit. Of course I knew I'd have to meet her parents at some point but the reality of it all was a bit intense. I was particularly nervous given the fact that the details of the challenge were still looming over me and it was coming so quickly at this point. How do you tell the parents of your mate that you offered her up as collateral in a challenge and that she may be mated to someone entirely different in less than a week? This was definitely not a typical meet the parents situation. If I could at least handle the Darren issue, I could probably show her parents that I would do everything in my power to keep her safe and be there for her and gain their trust.
