The Monster Within

The Hunters search begins

The hunters, after finishing their plan to find and capture Mufasa, have found their way into town. However, they don’t know which part of town they should look at, so they begin a systematic and clever search for where Mufasa could be or likes to be. The hunters for the last decade have been known for being old, potbellied Caucasian racists who don’t like werewolves and see them as an abomination to the world. They believe that humans are the purest species. In the last decade, they have been on the most wanted list by the police. However, even they cannot take on the hunters because they always find a way of evading justice. Even so, the people would fear the hunters if they dared to go up against them. These hunters were killers, and they never cared who got in the way. As long as you were denying them their prize of killing a wolf, you were part of the hunt. Whenever they appeared in any town, they would leave that town having killed over a dozen humans without remorse. They have so much hate. They are rude. Always have a killing spree just for the fun of it. Whenever they enter a bar to drink, they tend to want to dominate the area and threaten the people in the bar, to the point where the bar becomes empty. The owner of the bars they go to always wants to ban these killers, but he knows that they have a tendency to kill on sight anyone who gets in their way without any regard. So the bar owners usually let the hunters do what they wanted; that way, at least their premises weren't trashed or turned into a murder scene, just like what had happened in other towns these ruthless hunters had been in.

Back in Kampala, Jenny, Vanessa, and Jacob aren't aware that the hunters are on the hunt for Mufasa and anyone else who is a wolf or a shifter. They are on the hunt for any werewolves around. This all began 10 years ago when one of the hunters was out in the woods doing some firewood collection and he stumbled upon a large cave which had some fire coming from it. Of course, at the time, he didn’t know what he was getting himself into, because he was a staunch racist who only believed in the human race as the only living beings on the earth. So, as the hunter approached the cave, he saw a large wolf-looking animal moving around the fire lit in the cave. He couldn’t believe his eyes because he thought that there was no such living thing in the world. To him, he thought it was a trick or maybe the devil. The hunter was so terrified that he collapsed immediately on the cave floor. At the time, the hunter didn’t know it was Mufasa the wolf. This is how their encounter happened. Mufasa, being a good person, picked up the hunter and took him to a lodge nearby so that he could be safe and not be feasted upon by some wild creatures, since the forest isn't safe. Mufasa ran so quickly back to the forest that the hunter or people around the lodge didn’t realize that a wolf of his type existed. So, as he was running back, two other hunters spotted a large animal running in the woods. They couldn’t really see what it was, but they saw enough to believe that there was something alive in the forest. So these two hunters, who had just got back from running their errands, found their friend, who had been in the forest collecting firewood on the ground, passed out. They were so concerned and afraid that he had died. So they pulled him inside the house and tried everything they could to bring him back to life, which he did after a while. Meanwhile, the two hunters were trying to think of what could have happened in the woods if the initial hunter was just collecting firewood, but they remembered that they had just seen a large shadowy figure in the forest moving like nothing they had ever seen. So they asked the sickly hunter what had happened to him because of being in the sick state he was in. So the sickly hunter narrated his story to them, and they all stood up with so much vigor and anger over the wolf that they put their frustration on the wolf who had initially helped the hunter reach home safely. This is where the hate towards wolves comes from. This is why they have been chasing Mufasa for a decade.

Fast forward to current times, and the hunters print out wolf images with Mufasa’s name and plaster them all over town. When Mufasa sees one of the posters on the wall in town and finds out that the hunters are around, he decides to hide. He makes his way to the bunker he had originally made for times like these, since the last time he wasn’t prepared, it almost got him discovered. So Mufasa went straight into the house, shut down all the windows and doors and setup the cameras so that he could observe the house from his bunker. He was so terrified because he knew that at any time these hunters would find him or maybe trace him. He makes sure to store a lot of food and drink in the bunker which he had bought a while back in anticipation of the hunters. At that moment, all he could think of was his family. So what Mufasa did was to make sure he made a call to Jenny and Jacob and let them know that these hunters were on the move again after a decade. Vanessa's mother gets a call from Mufasa about keeping Vanessa safe. Mufasa explains how he saw posters around town with his details on them. He tells Jenny that the hunters are back on the hunt again and asks her to keep Vanessa safe and that she can leave if she has to. She must move again, to a secure location. Of course, Mufasa was clever because he had foreseen this happening, which is why he had sent Jacob, a fellow werewolf, ahead of time to lookout for the family. Now that Jacob had known about this plan, Mufasa was calm and sound of mind, knowing the family would be safe even from these hunters, but he was not taking anything for granted since the last time they hunted him. He was almost caught and killed. Mufasa never wanted a repeat of events.

Jenny agreed to keep Mufasa informed in case of any trouble, and Mufasa told her that he loved her and would take care of her in case anything happened. His last wish would be to be with her one last time in the name of love. Jenny felt so heartbroken because she had been missing him ever since she had found wolf prints in the forest a few days ago. Since Vanessa was in the house at the time, Jenny called her downstairs to talk with her father. Jenny told him that her father had something very important to tell her. Mufasa told his daughter to "keep yourself and your mother safe". Vanessa responded, "Why are you telling me that, dad?" Mufasa says, "There are some people after me and they won't stop searching until they find me, so I need you to be safe. If there is any sign of danger, you should tell your mother until I can make it to you some time. Vanessa starts getting worried about her father because all she wants is to see him again and see him safe. The father tells the daughter that he will do everything to be in touch again. He sends her kisses and goes offline.

Once Mufasa goes off the phone with his daughter, he cries for a while because he truly misses his family, but Mufasa knows that he has to keep them safe, and the best way is to be separate from them. So he calls the only person he knows that can protect them in Kampala, and he tells Jacob to keep his daughter safe because the hunters might come there. Jacob gets worried about how he will be able to protect Vanessa and her mother without revealing himself to Vanessa. So he promises Mufasa that he will do everything possible to protect them. Mufasa goes off the phone when he is confident his daughter will be safe and goes into hiding for a month. Meanwhile, Jacob starts to ponder how he will reveal to Vanessa that he is a wolf and has been looking out for her ever since. He goes to his cave and sleeps in it, hoping the next day will give him the answers he needs.
