38 Tyler I asked if Gabi needed any help at least three times, and she turned me down. So, I went to my bedroom and took a quick shower. I put on some sweatpants and a T-shirt and went back to the living room. I glanced at the TV—I had paused on an episode of The Walking Dead—then to Gabi—she was checking something in the oven. My eyes flickered between the TV and Gabi again. I turned off the TV and sat on a stool at the kitchen counter. It seemed that even though I hadn’t apologized for being a jerk and snapping at her—more than once—the tension was gone and she had somehow forgiven me.
