“Are you sure?”

207 Words
I warned you. I asked you to be sure, you said you were sure. I told you I wasn't a toy. I warned you. I asked you to be sure, you said you were sure You were sure for 48 days. I warned you. And tonight? Tonight and every night since it’s ended I lie awake searching searching through my memories to pinpoint where I went wrong searching for any sense of relief from the war zone you’ve created in my mind searching for the pieces of myself that I gave to you Give them back give me back the nights that i've spent crying over you you said you were sure give me back the laughter I used to have with my friends you said you were sure give me back my mindset before you broke me you said you were sure you promised me it meant something to you too, I asked to make sure You should have said you weren't sure. I would’ve kept my secrets hidden I would’ve kept my walls up I would’ve kept my mind free from your grasp I would’ve kept my heart in one piece I would’ve said thank you but you said you were sure You lied.
