My eyes widened as he pulled out a document, offering it.
I parted my lips but no words came out. My mind flashed back to Fer’s words.
He told me I had a new partner but he said she was a woman. Aiden was not a woman.
Or, was Aiden playing a prank?
I narrowed my eyes, snatching the papers.
No matter how many times I scanned, the words conveyed the same thing — Aiden was my new partner.
The original partner had… mysteriously given up her position.
“Earth to Emmaline?”
I blinked, before glaring. “You’ve crossed your limits.”
Aiden gasped. “I— Aiden Wood, have limits?”
I brushed past him, walking into my bedroom. He couldn't barge into my company like that.

“I am giving you space.” He retorted, “Our cabins are like—” he counted with his finge
