"Luna!" My heart nearly stopped as she collapsed in my arms, her skin pale and cold. The chamber's hungry magic swirled around us, dark and ancient. "No, no, no..."
"She's breathing," Darren said quickly, checking her pulse. "Just unconscious. The power drain..."
I cradled her closer, my wolf howling in distress. This was my fault. I'd let her push herself too far, knowing she was already exhausted from breaking through the outer wards.
