"Alpha... Alpha." Darren's voice pulled me from the darkness. "You're finally awake?"
My eyes snapped open to find myself lying on the cold floor where Elder Miriam had left me. Blood had dried on my face and shirt.
I jolted upright. "What's happening? Where am I? Where's Luna?" The words tumbled out in a panic.
Darren's concerned face came into focus. "What's wrong with you, Alpha? Luna is still in her cell. You fainted after the spell took hold."
My heart sank like a stone. "In her cell? So... it was just a dream?"
All of it, Shadow confirmed sadly. *
We never broke free. Never reached her.
