The Elders gathered in the council room, their faces stern. Miriam stood at the center, her thin lips curved into a satisfied smile as she watched Kane was dragged in by four guards, his eyes were lifeless, his movements weak.
"Excellent," Miriam said, circling Kane slowly. "The spell worked perfectly."
Elder Kain stepped forward, his gray robes rustling against the stone floor. "Are we certain he's fully under our control? He's an Alpha—their minds are stronger than most."
"Test him yourself," Miriam suggested with a dismissive wave of her hand.
Kain approached Kane cautiously. "Alpha, can you hear me?"
Kane's head turned toward the voice, his eyes drifting slowly to meet Kain's gaze, but there was no recognition in them, no spark of awareness.
"Tell us where Luna is," Kain commande
