Pain from the binding spell coursed through my body as Darren rushed out to find Luna. I gripped my desk, trying to steady myself, when Jack, one of my most trusted guards, burst through the door.
"Alpha!" he panted, his face pale with panic. "Thank the Moon you're here! It's Lady Luna—"
My head snapped up. "What happened?"
"Crystal... she..." Jack struggled to catch his breath. "We caught her trying to strangle Lady Luna in her cell. If I hadn't done my extra rounds..."
