“Open the f*****g door,” I snapped. “Or I can just start breaking s**t. Up to you.” Christian Rinaldi was glaring at me in the darkness. We were at his family estate— me waiting for him to key in his access code at the front door. As much as I needed to get to Rinaldi’s office, I was ready to get this s**t over with and get home to Evelyn. Being away from the house made me nervous. I had men surrounding the perimeter of the estate— I didn’t like surprises. I’d had eyes on the house, so I knew no one had been in— but that didn’t mean no one else was watching it, too.
