Chapter 1

One year ago

I stood among the elders and councils who represented every pack and also enforced the law. In my hands lay the evidence of Alpha Zyran's crime.

“Here it is Sir” I informed and handed the evidence which was in the form of paper to the supreme elder.

The elder obtained the papers from my hand. He took his time to scan each and every detail on the paper.

I looked across the room and realized that Zyran's Beta was frayed, his knuckles were whitening and jaw clenching because of the situation. Meanwhile Zyran looked composed even when he knew things were not in his favor anymore. I knew it wasn't fair to do this to Zyran because he was my mate, but I didn't care because he's a monster. The bond we shared was strong though but I ignored it totally.

As the Elder flipped through each page carefully, Zyran's beta got more tense with each passing second. The supreme Elder dropped the evidence then he scanned the room and his eyes landed on Zyran.

“Alpha Zyran, according to the law you'll be held captive for as long as you live for such illegal activities.” The supreme Elder said and Zyran smirked at that. Pity coursed through my bones when I heard his fate, but it's his fault he got into such a situation.

“Alpha Zyran, you'll be in life imprisonment, and your pack will also go down with you” He announced and shockingly Zyran's expression remained composed while his Beta's expression was contrast to his.

“Take him!” He barked and three council members immediately lunged towards him to take him.

"You betrayed me. This isn't over and don't forget you're mine” Zyran forced himself into my head.

My heart raced when he said that and I watched him be taken out. I wondered if this was what I really wanted because I felt so much pity for him.

Present day

The news of Zyran release spread like wildfire throughout all packs. I knew I'll have to run to escape his wrath because I know he'll come after me.

'This isn't over and don't forget you're mine' the words he said a year ago resounded through my mind.

I still am amazed that he got himself out of there and the most painful thing is that all the evidence I had gathered was gone.

“Lythia, I know that you're troubled about Zyran's sudden return and the turn of events but don't over think about it” My mom advised, her voice was soft and so soothing.

“Okay mum, I won't over think about it” I promised my mum.

“Come give me a hug” she requested and opened her arms. I stood up from where I said and ran into her arms. The hug was so soothing and my tense figure slowly relaxed in her arms.

After a while of hugging I removed myself from her arms.

“Mum, I think I'll have to leave the pack and maybe stay in the human world” I informed my mom about my decision. My mom's eyes watered when I said that and her expression.

“Whatever you want to do I'll support you” my mom said and then she pulled into her embrace again. Her hug was so calming and I was really going to miss it.

“Mom, I think I should tell dad about this because I'll be leaving today.” I suggested.

“Okay” my mum agreed and I pulled out of the hug because I wasn't sure she'd let go of me easily.

“Mum, let's go tell Dad” I requested.

“I can't go with you, I'll have to help you pack your necessities.” My mum said and I replied with a light nod.

I approached the parlor with a heavy heart and fear ran through my veins, because of my situation.

As I reached the parlor I saw my dad seated on the couch with a stressed expression. His eyes were weary and it lost the warmth it usually has.

“Father” I reached out to him so he'll acknowledge my presence.

“Hey Lythia come give me a hug” My dad requested and spread his arms and I ran into it. As usual his firm arms brought warmth to my pain. My eyes watered and soon tears began dropping from my eyes. I sniffled on my dad's shoulder for like a good number of times.

My dad pulled out from the hug and looked at my face which was tear stained and my eyes still watery.

“What happened?” My dad asked when he took in my present expression.

“Dad, I'll be leaving this pack to the human world because Zyran has been released.” I replied. My dad's expression changed, his eyes watered and his knuckles were clenched by his side.

“When are you leaving?” My dad asked.

“Today” I replied.

“Okay. Now come give me a hug” My dad said and I ran to his embrace. The hug lasted for a minute before my mom came out from nowhere and interrupted.

“Lythia, I'm done packing your necessities," my mom announced and I redrew from the huge to see her rolling a box towards my direction.

“Thanks mom,” I said and ran into her arms and my dad also joined the hug.

After the heart touching hug my dad pecked me on both cheeks and my mum did the same.

“Let me go get my bag” I announced and rushed into my room to grab my hand bag and I left the room and also left all my memories.

“Bye mum, bye dad” I said then I picked a car key which was laid at the center table.

I didn't hug my parents again instead I waved at them and then waved back, and with that I left the house which held memories.

I went into the small garage and went towards the car I had the keys and entered it, then dropped my luggage at the pack.

Once I was done I ignited the engine and drove away from not just the garage but the pack and everything that laid in it.

She thinks she can escape my wrath. She won't, not now and not ever. I said with a devilish smirk on my lips as I tapped my fingers on the table.
