Lily seethed inwardly. If it weren’t for his mother, she would have turned him into a useless person who couldn't take care of himself.
"It hurts, can you let go of me first?" Lily looked pitifully at Sean, a pair of soulful eyes containing vapor, surprisingly compelling to anyone who looked into them.
Sean's body once again flooded with a heat that he could not describe. The faint scent in the air was almost imperceptible. He even at this moment remembered the woman in the women's restroom as bold and courageous.
What happened to him?
Sean quickly released her and annoyingly picked up the pad next to the tealight to delicately wipe his fingers. "Such an ugly woman also wants to sleep with me. Threw her to Lia for a gift."
Lily rubbed her neck in confusion. "Who is Lia?"
Sean's mood instantly improved a lot. He looked at Lily with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, a playful glint piercing through the calm depths. His long fingers gently pointed towards the back of Lily, his thin lips hooked up. "Over there!"
Lily immediately understood. Lia is that man-eating Tibetan mastiff.
In her mind, she cursed Sean, but her body immediately turned to hide behind Sean. The Tibetan mastiff, loyal to its master, would never attack Sean.
But her footsteps just took action as Sean's bodyguards blocked them. Sean looked at Lily in a calm manner and said the words coldly, "If you can get away from Lia, I might give you a chance."
Lily was about to argue when Sean raised his hand to his lips and whistled. The Tibetan mastiff howled and charged towards Lily.
Lily’s hand darted to the pocket with the silver needle, tense, her eyes narrowing with a sudden, lethal intent.
Sean felt a strange sensation, just as he was about to investigate further, his face contorted in pain, veins bulging on his forehead and neck as if he was struggling against immense agony, before he fainted.
"Mr. Lewis!" The crowd was alarmed. The Tibetan mastiff, which did not receive further instructions, shook its big head and turned to run again to continue to gnaw on the initial prey.
Lily’s back was soaked with sweat. For now, she had no time to worry about the Tibetan mastiff. Her attention was fully on Sean, who was being carefully laid on the bed by the bodyguards.
This way, no one cared about her. She observed Sean, whose symptoms suggested he was indeed ill, but it didn’t seem to be from the gunshot wound he had before.
Could it be that his legs were intermittently paralyzed?
Sean, who just moments ago had a domineering presence, now lay there with closed eyes, his face twisted in pain, blood seeping from the corners of his lips.
Lily was about to go forward to check the specific situation and was stopped by a bodyguard. "Miss Moore, please wait outside."
Lily urgently said, "You guys picked me up from the Moore family. I'm Sean's wife, he is my husband. Can’t I stay here?"
Her very blunt and bold words made the bodyguards all staggered, and it was at this moment that the family doctor rushed in with a medicine box on his back, seemingly familiar with Sean's condition, and administered a sedative.
"What’s wrong with him? A tranquilizer just treats the symptoms, not the cause. Shouldn’t you at least examine him?" Lily asked.
"Who is she?" the family doctor asked unhappily.
"I'm Sean's wife. I have the right to know everything," Lily demanded.
The family doctor was choked and couldn't say anything. Lily took this opportunity to rush to the bedside, raising Sean's hand to check his pulse, her brows instantly furrowed.
There was a deep poison in Sean’s body. What was going on?
"How is Sean?" Xavier rushed in, his face full of anxiety, clutching the family doctor's arm and saying, "How come the interval is so short this time? Has the condition worsened?"
"Dad, Sean’s illness hasn’t appeared overnight. There’s no point in worrying," Jeff who was right behind Xavier had a bland tone, but he just still couldn't hide the worry in the depths of his eyes.
"Don’t spout nonsense!" Xavier slammed his cane on Jeff, trembling with anger. "Useless lot! Quickly go out and find another doctor. If there is no one in the country, then go abroad and look for the best doctor. If something happens to my grandson, I’ll make you pay!"
"I believe I can cure him," the previously ignored Lily spoke up, her hand raised like a schoolgirl volunteering to answer a question.
The bodyguard explained Lily's identity. Xavier and Jeff looked at her freckled face and both frowned.
"I'm Sean's grandfather. You just said you can heal Sean?" Despite his confusion about Lily’s appearance, Xavier Lewis was more concerned about what Lily had just said.
Lily quickly said, "Xavier, I've studied some medicine and know acupuncture. I’ve seen this kind of condition before. I believe I can save him. Please, let me try."
The family doctor snorted coldly. "Acupuncture? You don't even know what kind of disease Mr. Lewis has, and you dare to speak out of turn?"
Lily nonchalantly retorted, "Well, that’s still more responsible than shooting him up with tranquilizers without a proper diagnosis. Don’t you know that overuse can lead to resistance and cause permanent nerve damage?"
The family doctor's face turned red with dislike.
Jeff said in a deep voice, "I’ve never heard that a Moore girl has a knack for medicine."
Looking at the man who bore a slight resemblance to Sean, it wasn't hard for Lily to guess his identity, and thinking of Rose who raised her, she didn't have a good feeling about this kind of person who started a mess.
"Xavier, Sean's illness cannot be delayed. He is my husband. I will not hurt him. Please let me try," Lily implored.
Xavier pondered for a moment and said, "Alright, but we’re staying here to watch. If anything happens to Sean, it won’t just be you who pays the price. The entire Moore family will answer for it."
Lily nodded, no more nonsense, and sharply stripped Sean n***d. His perfect and lean body was exposed. Her hands were steady as she took a deep breath and began to place the needles, her fingers brushing against his taught skin. Sweat beaded on her forehead from the intensity of her focus.
Xavier watched Lily's acupuncture movements, the light in his eyes flashed, and he believed at a few more points in Lily's words that she was able to cure Sean.
But just at the moment his heart fell, the unconscious Sean suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood, his face became even paler, and his breath weakened a few points.
