Hope woke with a groan. She could feel the pain of her wound shooting through her abdomen. She reached down and saw a fresh bandage covering her stomach. She was dressed in a light gown, someone had undressed her and put her to bed. She looked around the room, confused. It looked familiar but she didn't know what she was doing there. She stood gently and put on the dressing gown at the foot of the bed before she walked to the door and tried to open it. It was locked. She was locked in the room.
She banged on the door but no one came. She saw a second door and opened it. It led to the bathroom. She banged on the door once more, but no one heard her, or they didn't care. She wasn't sure which it was.
