THE FORGOTTEN ONE 1.4

His son was lying there no sound coming from him. Mateo's heart which was pounding from all the exertion calmed down instantly. Not by the calm but by the extreme grief. He crawled under the bed and slowly pulled the seemingly lifeless body out. He looked at his son with mist covering his eyes making it impossible to see properly. He gently hugged him. Sadness so strong that words were less to describe. Pain so great that no human should feel it. At that time even if the thunder rumbled outside Mateo's life seemed silent with no one to whisper soothing words or amusing laughs which he enjoyed. He looked at his son again discovering a wound which seemed to be given to him by a knife. But that wound seemed not much as the blood had already clogged and felt as if it will heal real soon. One attention he wasn't able to focus upon was the warmth of the body which he was feeling. Which was weird as a dead body shouldn't have that warmth. But the situation didn't allowed Mateo to examine this feature as he had lost two of the most important people in his life. His eyes which were lifeless contained a faint trace of anger for the man who destroyed his life. With heavy steps he moved his feet again towards the same room where that evil creature was. This time there was neither the vigour nor grief just lifelessness and a wish. A wish to kill and and a wish to die in order... As he walked boundless darkness followed. Sinister it may be, but it had a purpose to swallow the evil lying ahead. When he reached the basement he saw the perpetrator lying down. His vision also went towards the chest where his wife was... in pieces. He kept his eternally sleeping baby on the broken sofa and moved towards the box, overturning and emptying the box of its content. He held his puke welling up to his neck. By dragging and pushing the box towards the hole dug up by Eric. The box perfectly fit inside the hole. He then dragged the still unconscious body of Eric and threw him inside the box and at closed the lid. He knew by the size of the box and by human ability to stick towards the life, giving Eric enough time to visit hell even while alive. To reduce any chances of escape he even closed the gap by putting soil above it by the shovel.  He took out a cigarette lighter from his pocket first burning the things which were flammable such as the clothes which were in the corner. He walked towards the torn sofa picked up his son and ignited it with the same lighter. Slowly but surely fire was starting to take a more vigorous form. But before that could happen Mateo exited from the house and kept on walking with no destination in sight. The clouds which have been there since a week were still upon his head with heavy rain and thunder never ending in nature. Behind him was the house which was starting to burn and crackle with fire. After he went at least some distance away. There was a loud boom not of the thunder but from the explosion of something from house. "Probably the gas..." came a whisper from Mateo. After some time of aimless wandering he reached a quit a beautiful place where one could see a lake. But that beauty was obscured by the rain and mist. If it was a clear day you could see majestic trees and green mother nature spreading her arms around the lake to hug it. He sat down on a patch of wet grass and started weeping. "I am sorry for being so late Aurora. I am so sorry... If I just had some more time you would be here wi.. with me wouldn't.... wouldn't you." He lamented. "I... I couldn't give you a proper burial but our love would have it. You wanted to name him. Didn't you? Don't worry I will name him for you. I will also do the naming ceremony in your stead happy?" He mocked himself.  His wife once told him the procedure for naming a new born child in her home town Africa. And they decided that they will name their child by that ceremony and so he will. He went under a shade where there wall little clearing with no wet place due to the tilted tree with huge slightly bent trunk that gave the shade. The tree looked very ancient in nature due to it's sheer size. And may be it was. He looked here and there to search for something flammable but to his disappointment he found nothing. At last he removed his raincoat and the t shirt he was wearing just after that. The t shirt had many wet patches due to the torn raincoat but it saved a little dry space. The fire came to life after a click of the lighter but Mateo blew the fire away keeping the gas on by pressing the button, He soaked up the t-shirt in the gas and put the t shirt on the ground and drew a circle around it. He bent to one knee and kept the baby a little away from the circle.
