[Araya's POV] Araya holds her breath, listening to the sounds outside the cabin. She can hear footsteps now, heavy and deliberate, circling the perimeter. Voices drift through the walls, low and menacing. "Smells like blood." "Fresh kill. Could be good meat." "Or could be a trap. You know what lives in these woods." Ronan stands perfectly still by the window, his golden eyes tracking the movement outside. His body is tense, coiled like a spring ready to snap. Araya's heart hammers in her chest. She wants to ask what's happening, wants to know if they're safe, but Ronan's warning echoes in her mind. Stay quiet. If you scream, they'll hear you.
