Time appeared to pass quickly throughout the remaining hours of the day, and the workday was over in a few of hours. The cool night air hitting my face did little to ease the constriction in my chest, so I stepped outside and relieved I was finally free, at least, for the day. Each step away from him felt heavier than the last, like I was dragging the weight of everything unsaid with me. My thoughts raced, chaotic and tangled..
