Exiting the room alongside Melanie, I maintained an act of calm, but turmoil raged within me. A storm of emotions brewed, and I was at a loss on how to calm the tempest. My feelings were a knotted mess, threatening to overflow. In contrast, Tyler reclined in his seat, obviously content with the day's proceedings. Yet, I could tell something was nagging at him, a tension I had inadvertently caused with my strange behavior. It was palpable. He must have sensed it. Strolling down the silent corridor, my hands shook ever so slightly, clutching the documents tighter. The prospect of encountering Ryan again wasn't just a looming threat.. it was a certainty. And the mere thought triggered a tidal wave of dread. As Tyler's personal assistant, my presence at the bidding ceremony was a given.
