Chapter 8: RescuedI drifted back into awareness with a television playing softly somewhere in the room. I was lying on my side, warm and comfortable under a pile of blankets. Memories began to seep into my consciousness; being rescued, the blood, the bodies. Relief was sweet as I relished being out of harm's way and knowing Lucas and my friends had survived.
