Chapter 9: DesireWhen I woke again, Lucas was gone and Marianne was sitting on the edge of the bed, flicking through a magazine. Whilst her hair remained the rich-but-relatively-mundane black, she'd gelled it into half a dozen pointy spikes. She was wearing a black t-shirt decorated with skull and crossbones, black jeans with safety pins decorating the front of each leg and her feet were encased in Doc Martins with bright orange laces.
