IT SMELLS LIKE WRONG

#SEVEN

(Sobbing and Sobbing*)

Alex was not in the mood to talk to anyone including her own best friend .

Even if she wanted , she couldn't do it ...

Not a single word came out of her mouth ...

She was just sobbing and sobbing...

She wants her own space to deal with things especially at that moment . She wanted to go back to her normal life but unfortunately that wasn't the case with her, her parents lied to her...

Now , she was depressed about that fact she had no else where to go but there.

She gathered some strength and pointed to her north-west direction where her phone was kept on the bed side table.

Kathrine understood what she wants to say and brought what she was asking for.

Alex thought to call her mum and to finally ask her why did she do that and make her to bring her back home. She dialled..

It was ringing for a long time and then she heard something ...

"Alex?...I- Is that you ?" It barely was a whisper.. even lower than that.

" Mum? It's me " Alex finally spoke up.

"Darling.... how's everything going there. Are you okay ? Are you crying?" She could feel tension in her voice.

"Mum , Did you lie to me ? "

She asked

No response...

" Alex... I'm sorry. I never mean to-"

She cut her off..

"Mum. If you never meant to do it then what made you to do it ! Please bring me home back with you , I don't want to stay here any longer "

She hesitated, " I know you might be having many questions but I'm sorry but I won't do that "

She hung up .

Alex stared at her phone blankly , clenched it tightly...She never expected that her mother will abandon her one day like this and that day , she'll never be able to ask her directly why she did that ?.

There was only one way for Alex to find out the truth and the answer was with the headmistress.

She stood up , ready to face the truth . No matter how bitter it might be . She no longer cared after getting abandoned by her parents. She was now ready to face anything or anyone and it has become like a challenge to her . Like a biggest struggle which she now needs to overcome . Like a unwanted dream from which she needs to wake up from. Or like a harsh reality from which she needs to be aware of .

She entered the office ,

She found the principle standing in front of her near the work desk , her back was facing her infact.

Raising her voice she said , " um-hello , Mathews . I wanted to chat with you about something important . If you have time for m- "

She turned on her heels

" of course Alex , Come on in "

She waved and gestured to the chair in front of the desk while she sat on the opposite one.

To be honest, it was more of a tensed atmosphere .. definately not because of Mathews

but ....from the beginning , I was never really comfortable in having a small talk with teachers. Maybe because you can't treat them frankly or informally...

you need to always show respect in all aspects and the way you talk with teachers is way out of my league.

It's not that she was never able to talk to teacher , it's just that she was never ever comfortable in small talks . Small talks are known to be fake and they of course are unnecessary. She always believed in deep talks and the thing is .....way more complicated so better leave it to that.

Coming back to my messy present life ...

" So tell me Alex , What is that you wanted to talk about ." She started.

" About my parents ... If you know why did they-"

" I know , You might be sad about this Alex...

This is the time when you will find many things which you were never aware of but at the same time you'll see that you can't do anything with it . Things were meant to be like that and the result can be awful sometimes.

They can broke you from inside but still you have to face them .You have to keep fighting until your last breath and this is the part of life .

You might be thinking , I'm just making up things but this is reality and you must accept this and all the teachers you see here , Are all here to make you realise that and I'm glad that you came to me with your issue .

Do you want to know their reason ? "

She nodded .

" Ok then , this can be unbelievable at first but that is reality... "

She looked at her to continue and then said,

"They did this for you to have a good life . They are not your real parents and if you ask me then who are ? Then the answer is not with me . You are yet to find your parents and this is your task . This is your own fight ."

She again looked at her for some sign. But none so she continued ,

" As I said they did this for you to have a good life from here onwards. They have always treated you as their own child. "

Tiers slipped down from her cheeks but no sound came. She just silently listened.

"If they treated me as their own child then why now they must separate me ! "

She finally asked.

" Alex , this school isn't for normal kids . Only those kids can attend this school who have some or the other relation with ' depricated ' authority of this school and someone from your family has it but I'm sure it's definitely not your mum and dad but someone else"

" Who is it ? " She desperately asked.

" Alex you are yet to find many answer and as for your parents...we offered them this school for you and they told us about your real birth parents but even they don't know who are they or how they look like or even their names . It might be the case that they belonged to this school in some way." she explained.

She was left with no words to say...she had so much so that she never imagined the truth to be like this.

So Mathews continued to speak,

" Anyway , Are you close with Sauron ? "

Her heart was definitely going to explode this time..her cheeks were burning up.

She had no idea how to respond .

" Um-we are friends. How do you know ?"

" It's good that you are friends now , I assume he is helping you alot these days with your studies and with knowing things about this school. " Mathews said.

She is a master in changing a topic though

From my family which is now not mine to my new friends

...and thankfully it took her mind off from sad things. She thought to deal with them later , and wanted to rest and isolate herself from this world for a while. She had no idea who to trust because the ones who she used to trust the most than anyone else or in that case even herself has already betrayed her.

" Oh yes . He is of a great help . " She smiled after having such a horrible time of her life.

" I'm glad.

He told me alot about you and he was the one to tell me about you being upset because of your parents lying to you ...

and that's how I came to know that you found out the truth and soon you'll be here for answers" she said.

Sauron mentioned me to you ? Why ..?

" W-what did he talk about me ? " She unwantedly looked desperate to know but she was still trying to remain calm and not to show ' eager -to- know ' look.

Then she replied, " He told me that he finds you quite interesting to talk with and that you are different from others.."

Her bright red cheeks now glowed in the light of her table lamp...

" Ooh. " She had nothing to say on that.

"I think you should consider him" she advised .

" Pardon ? " She questioningly asked but from inside she was going wild.

"I think he likes you and you should consider him . You must be surprised to hear this but you can also talk to me about your love issues .... "

" I'm here as your friend... I hope you will consider me as a friend in future for your problems , Not matter what kind of trouble infact any trouble "

She gave her a warm and comforting smile.

Alex felt a bit relaxed and she would definitely consider her as a friend specially in these difficult times .

She smiled as well.

It was good for her not to leave the office in disappointment but with a smile.

She had later asked Mathews to allow her to have a rest for the today and not to go for her classes.
