“Asena is a powerful deity of rebirth. Most werewolves come from the Moon Goddess. You have heard about her, right?” Oh, that snarky ass. I nodded my head but could see the hidden smirk in his eyes. “But there are special wolves, rare bloodlines that come from other sources. Asena was one of them. She was a divine wolf shifter. She took a human mate, and together they had a dozen children. Over time, that line spread, creating wolves with abilities beyond anything the Moon Goddess had granted. They didn’t answer to the Moon Goddess because they weren’t bound by her.”
I listened, transfixed, as he continued.
