Though the tunnel seemed to be endless, Lily figured that it probably only ran the length of a block. She and Abigail walked quickly, both helping to bring the stunned girl along. Lily could hear Abigail stumbling in the dark. She was weak. Dammit, Mort.
There were several doors along the way, but there was a light at the end of the main tunnel, so they stuck to it, hoping they were making the right decision.
“These tunnels aren’t on the original blueprint, but based on the limited signal from your earpieces it looks like you’re heading to the street directly behind the building,” Mort said. “I have Steve driving us there now to pick you up. The bad news is the security is coming back online.”
