Chapter 15 :Can't Stand Being Tossed Around

580 Words
Amy milled around the corridor for a long time, making sure Carter wasn't there before she slowly walked back. "Amy, what are you doing here?" A male voice suddenly came from in front of her, and Amy looked up, recognising the man's face and subconsciously straightening her body. "Mr. Grayson?" That's what Amy called him, but the man in front of her wasn't just a teacher, he was also the trustee of the University of A--Grayson. He provided the University of A with a large batch of scholarships every year, and Amy, as one of the four-year recipients, met with Grayson almost every year. So they could still speak to each other. "What a coincidence to meet you here, are you here to see a friend?" Grayson was dressed in a casual suit, one hand in his pocket, and his smile was gracious and self-effacing. Amy lied, "I'm here for a part-time job and I'm heading back to school now." She had always been a hard worker, and the teachers in the department were well aware of that. Grayson nodded in understanding, "Yeah, I remember you're graduating soon, this year?" "That's right, internship in a month." Amy answered honestly. "Well ......" Grayson mused for a moment and suddenly said, "I can talk to your mentor, how about you come to my place during your internship?" "Amy froze, "Huh?" She didn't react for a moment and stared at him dumbfounded. "I have a design project over here that just so happens to need an assistant, is Amy interested?" Amy's eyes lit up and she agreed almost immediately, "I'm very interested, thank you very much, Mr. Grayson, I'll do my best!" This was a heavenly opportunity for her, a college student. Grayson was a school governor with a wide range of abilities and resources, and being able to intern with him and work on projects was a dream come true for Amy. "Well then, it's a deal, I'll be in touch in a few days." Amy said happily, "Thank you Mr. Grayson, see you soon." She left the neighbourhood in a happy mood, her legs no longer feeling the pain. It seemed that the man was truly her own man and had easily brought her a great internship! Shortly after Amy left, a black Land Rover pulled up next to Grayson, the window half-opened to reveal Evan's cold face. Grayson gingerly opened the door and got in. "Evan, you said it was my birthday yesterday, why did you disappear halfway through your drink? Where have you been since?" Evan started the car, "Something came up." "What could you have been up to? Did you pick up a girl?" Grayson teased him, "The scratches on your arm are coming out, tsk tsk, they're still fresh, what kind of little wildcat hits that hard?" Evan glanced at his arm on the steering wheel, his shirt sleeve was rolled halfway up just enough to show off a few red scratches. His mind drifted back to last night ...... At first, she was clutching the sheets, pleading with him, then, unable to stand it, she grabbed his arm and begged. When that didn't work, she started scratching one at a time. A wildcat? More like a wild rabbit desperate to bite. Evan withdrew his eyes, and thinking about what Amy and Grayson had just been talking about and laughing about, he asked offhandedly, "That girl you were just talking to, is she one of your students?"
