Sarah Gardner“What do you think?” Sarah asked Louise, her hands resting on her hips. Sarah had offered to host a welcome dinner for Kate’s mom. After everything that Kate had been through, she was glad that her friend had something to look forward to.
“Everything looks great.” Louise eyed the buffet that Sarah had carefully organized.
“What if she doesn’t like this type of food?” Sarah wrinkled her nose.
“Trust me,” Louise said, “you’ve left nothing more to want for—not with this amazing spread. I mean, just look at all that!”
“True,” Sarah said, taking another look at the buffet. They had all pitched in. There was a classic garden salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, feta, and Sarah’s now-famous croutons and homemade dressing. Louise had prepared a dish of tender beef tip
