Chapter 3 Louise DelaneyBefore they all sat down to eat, Louise noticed that Kate and Mark disappeared back into the house; and when Kate returned, she was on her own. “Where’s Mark?” she asked. Kate glanced around the table and then at her mom. “Uh—he had to go do something for work. Shall we eat?” It did not escape Louise that Helen had raised an eyebrow as she took a sip from her glass of soda.
