Chapter 31 Kate MorganChristmas dinner was at Louise’s house that year. She wanted to host what she called her holiday-shebang. “I want to create as many memories that I can hang on to,” Louise had said. Kate didn’t have the heart to tell her that even those would be taken from her. She handed Adam to Mark, who had just arrived. “How are your parents?” she asked. “Good,” he said. “They were sorry to know we couldn’t join them for dinner tonight, but I said we would try to visit them tomorrow, if that’s okay with you.” Mark’s visits to the house had become few and far between. It didn’t help that Helen was outwardly rude to him.
