CHAPTER FOUR A New Home

as she settled down next to the young man sitting beside her, she went dumb trying to say something to him but was short of words.

I should probably say something nice to him, may be a thank you or ask him where he had found her or who he was.

alot of things was going through her mind as she pushed back the hair that had covered her face caused by the chilling breeze outside it was pretty strong.

using her hand to form a protective shield from the cold.

he just watched her as she struggled with the breeze, it was obviously coming from one of the windows of the hall that wasn't covered, he signed before returning back to the phone on his hand.

" he..y sir " she stuttered not quiet sure she had a clue of what to say or ask.

And as expected he said nothing to her, just looked up and nodded.

" well my name is Lexi.. Lexi Alfredo, may I know yours sir ".

he didn't talk just stared and nodded again.

he won't even talk to me, I was trying to be nice to him, why won't he talk after all was he expecting someone who had the opportunity to flee this good for nothing place not to utilize it !

as though he was reading her mind .

" you shouldn't have left that way, you didn't bother to know how you got to the hospital or how your bills were settled all you wanted to do was to run away, what if it was a poor person who brought you here how would he have coped with your bills" there was rage in his eyes as he spoke.

all he said wasn't a lie, I didn't stop to think what harm I would cause to others if I had my way, mumbling to her self.

" look sir am sorry, I sincerely apologise but i was thinking....."

she couldn't even finish what she was saying when he rudely interrupted again.

" you where think..., that's what women do they simply create problems and abandon it for the men, just like you did the second you had that plan in mind ".

" Oh oh, I think your crossing your limits, just because women act all good and nice to you foolish men you actually think you can intimidate and do as you like with us, you use us to achieve fame and riches at your own comfort, you don't work but take the largest share, and when we fall in love with you, you make a mockery of that " she fumed angrily.

" And who told you women aren't opportunist, they cling to you and make you all emotionally attached to them, sleep with you just to make you feel special then boom! she flees with your money just the same way you where trying to do " with a smirk on his lips.

The doctor Inside had been hearing all the nonsense they where arguing about.

" Liam your probably through with the adjustments, do I bring in the patient now " he asked.

He desperately wanted to ensure that they where going to leave.

No one could actually stand those two, he even doubted if they where meeting each other for the first time as they where saying it was.

" Yes doc it's all set you may

let them in now ".

He hurriedly came outside to announce that they could go inside for the remaining tests.

" You may now proceed " he repeated.

On hearing what the doctor had to say, Lexi kept quiet while Alex had to talk privately with the man.

After a while he returned and they both make their way into the lab.

" Sir you must remain outside you can't be in here " the attendant stated, except she happens to be your wife.

Alex held back his laughter how could he possible be the husband to a mad woman, she was crazy and insane he thought to himself.

" Alright I will be waiting for you he directed to her"

she kept her face away, wishing she had not see him before.

Walking out of the room he was gestured a sit by one of the nurses.

She seemed to be attracted to him, he settled down to wait for her.

It wasn't long before Lexi came out of the laboratory room.

Standing up and moving towards her, he asked if everything was alright and if they had the freedom to go.

" Sooo, tell me did he say we can leave now "

" We we we" that word echoed in her head three times, flash backs of leo came settling in her head as she struggled to hold back her tears, that was the exert statement leo made when she was being discharged from the hospital five years ago, when she had her baby.

" Hey are you there " he waved trying to bring her back from where ever she was lost.

" Yes, the doctor said I can go now."

" That's great well I would go and get the car you will stay right here and wait for me " he spoke as though the both of them had never had a quarrel before, sincerely he was happy for her.

They walked out of the clinic.

" You stay here, let me fetch my driver" he walked delicately, toward the parking lot.

she watched as he went further away before making her move, she couldn't think of living with any man they would just make use of what she has then leave her.

slowly she sneaked her way out of the the hospital, running faster than her weak legs could carry her, she was now in a street she didn't know still struggling to run.

she ran until she was far away from the clinic, far away from him, and far away from her past!

by now she was very weak and hungry but she still managed to drag herself further.

maybe she was doing too much now to her body, she wasn't strong for all these things she was doing.

she had begin to see double now with darkness everywhere, struggling to gain control and balance she fell knocking her head hard on the ground, she collapsed as blood oozed out of her head.

Alex got to his driver, the young man gentle opened the car for him.

" i will drive he opted " requesting for the keys.

" but sir, is there any problem " his driver asked.

" no there isn't any problem, I just want to drive, and I think we would be having company " he smiled.

So far Sid had been his favorite driver, as he was his first amongst all other drivers he had, Sid had been there when he was still building up, and was a loyal and humble young man, he never cheated his boss for even one day.

and Alex on the other side had much trust and respect for him.

Sid just smiled and join him at the back of the car then they drove back to where he had asked her to stay and wait for him.

" where on Earth did she go to, I had strictly asked her to stay here " he spoke with furry.

" maybe she went to get something quickly " Sid replied trying to make things sound a lot better than it looked.

" no, she didn't go to get something, she tried running away as she always tried to do " he spoke as he drove with a high speed, trying to get to her as soon as possible. luckily he knew every corner of that road, and from the looks of things, she wouldn't want to take the main road because of fear that he would take the same path when coming to search for her, so he just took the streets.

Sid just sat quietly, he understood his boss was really mad now, it was the first time in a very long while seeing him this angry, not even when his wife left him.

he signed as he wondered why any woman would want to run away from any young man as rich as his boss.

from a far distance he sighted a body lying miserably on the floor.

" boss slow down, this might be the lady, he said pointing at the body who's face was covered with hair, it was obviously a woman.

on hearing what Sid said he slowed down, parking next to the body.

he got down and quickly reached the unknown woman, she hair had blocked him from seeing her with the dried blood all over her cheeks, moving the hair aside, he was shocked to find out it was Lexi.

he didn't talk at all just signalled his drive to help him lay her at the back sit of the car.

they did that quickly and drove to his house.

where he had ordered the arrangement of a nurse before even getting home.
