Nikki strode into the office the following morning with renewed determination. The receptionist nodded at her as she walked past the desk and she tilted her head in the direction of the woman. Envelope heavy in her hand, she passed the closed door to her office, heading straight for the back of the building. Her uncle’s door was ajar, and she could hear his boisterous voice reprimanding someone. When she peeked through the crack in the door, she could see the timid paralegal cowering in the corner, head bent and hands wringing the handle of her brief case. He was already riled up and it was only nine in the morning. She absently wondered if it would be the best idea to drop it on him at the moment but, she was determined.
