Nicholas holds my hand and asks questions about my adventure today. I tell him everything we bought, and he doesn't seem offended or concerned that we got so many things.
I suddenly feel uneasy, like I'm being watched. I stop walking.

"It's probably just your cat. She watches you discreetly," he says casually. I furrow my eyebrow. Watches me? Can cats do that? I search around, but I don't see Shai. I'm surprised she would do that, especially since she is disinterested in me.
