“Floor 45 is known for doing a majority of coding. They work with what seems like the whole firewall and virus protection. The man’s name is Daniel Schmidt. Thanks to the first name I was able to pull up public records to all the employees that work there. Daniel was luckily the only Daniel that works there.”
Judith said as she scrolled through the information on her computer back at the hideout. She scanned over the information of where he usually shopped and where he went for coffee every morning before work due to the credit card he’d use.
“Gypsy's Pleasure is the coffee shop he stops at every morning before work. It’s right on the border of the Middle and Upper class districts.”
“That’s where we’ll take him.”
CJ said with a nod of her head. She was hell bent on getting this guy and seeing what ways they could use to get to the royal family. Code looked at her questionably.
“You want us to risk kidnapping someone between the Middle and Upper class? Did you forget how many police swarm that area? How many wanted posters with our faces float around that area? There’s no way we’ll be able to get even close to him if he knows who we are.”
“Do you have a better plan? If so I’d love to hear it.”
CJ asked looking at her VP. Code became quiet for a moment as she sat there thinking. It was then she looked across the table at Doodle.
“You said he seen your face right?”
“Yeah, we even stood there and talked about random stuff. Why? What’s your plan?”
“Well, it’s obvious that since he seen your face and didn’t alert security then it means he doesn’t know who you are and that you’re wanted. I say you go and just happen to meet up with him at the coffee place.”
Doodle lowered her head a bit looking dumbfounded at Code. Was she trying to get her killed or arrested? She swore that both her VP and her President’s main goal for this month was to do one or the other to her.
“No. No way. I’ve already done my part in this little recon mission or whatever the hell it is you want to call it. I’m not going to some upscale coffee shop and kidnapping a man that works for the royal family by myself.”
“I’ll go with you.”
Kay said speaking up looking to her friend that sat beside her. Doodle shook her head.
“No, because I’m not going.”
She snapped back fed up with them throwing her into this. It wouldn’t be bad if she had backup or something during this whole thing, but she didn’t. They left her alone to do this and if something were to happen she’d be on her own.
“Look, I know you’re pissed off you’re having to do this by yourself, but you have to remember the cause.”
CJ said speaking lowly as she looked to her Sargent. Doodle shook her head. She wasn’t doing this for the cause. She wasn’t like Chaos and willing to risk life and limb for all of this. She would do it if she had support, but going in this alone was just suicide to her.
“Sorry, but I’m not doing it. And you can punish me or whatever it is that you do to someone who doesn’t listen to you, but I’m done with this, have Chaos do it. It’s more up her alley anyway.”
Doodle said standing up from the table. The women watched her as she pushed in her chair and left to go outside needing a moment to herself. When the metal door closed shut behind her it seemed like everyone was looking at someone around the table.
CJ looked at Code expecting the woman to go have a talk with Doodle. Code sat there for a moment just looking at CJ before she shook her head and got up out of her seat to go find the woman that had wandered outside.
Code didn’t have to look far as she walked around toward the back of the building where they always parked the different vehicles that they had stolen for various reasons. Doodle was laying back against one of the bikes they had back there. Walking over Code noticed that the woman had her large silver shades on over her eyes as she was relaxed against the bike.
“I’m not doing it.”
Doodle spoke up before Code could even say anything.
“I didn’t even say anything.”
She said having a small smirk come to the corner of her lips as she looked at the younger woman laying stretched out on the bike.
“Didn’t have to I know CJ sent you out here. You’re always the one who she uses to talk some sense into people. I’ve been around long enough to know how it works by now.”
Code sighed listening to her. She was right, CJ did use her a lot to talk to the others to get them to do what it was CJ wanted. Crossing her arms she leaned against the old tan car that was parked back there.
“Look, I completely agree that sending you into the Middle and Upper class alone is stupid, dangerous even – “
“It’s straight up suicide.”
“But we need you for this. It’s made obvious that he doesn’t know who you are and we can’t say the same for the other women.”
“And you see that’s the thing that gets me!”
Doodle said slipping her shades up over her head as she sat up on the bike and looked at Code.
“I’m the third ranking highest member of this group of “terrorist” so if someone who is working for the royal family has no idea who I am – what’s going on there?”
She asked raising her hands up in the air. She was annoyed with this. She was annoyed with this mission and ever since she had been standing by the mail boxes she had a bad feeling about something. Code looked at her friend who had become like a close sister to her since they started this three years ago. The more she started to think about it the more she started to see it in a new light.
“You think it’s a trap?”
“I think he knows who I am but didn’t say anything to make us run into a trap yes!”
Code started thinking on things. Maybe Doodle was right. She had yet to come across anyone from any class that didn’t know who they were in one form or another. So for this man who did work for the royal family to not know Doodle, it did seem odd.
“I’ll take it to CJ and see if she can listen to reason. But we both know that being this close to the royal family she’s pushing for it to work out.”
“Pushing us like this without thinking will get us all killed, you know that Code.”
“Yeah trust me I know.”
She said looking her friends way. Shaking her head Code placed her hand on the side of her head. She was starting to get a headache from all of this now. Between CJ and Doodle things at the table during meetings was starting to get tense and the rest of the women could see it easily.
“We’ve got to stick together on this if one of us is having a bad feeling then the others need to back us up.”
Doodle said standing up off the bike and looking over at Code.
“This isn’t a game. We didn’t start this group to become heroes either. We’re doing it because we know what’s right. We know what needs to be done for the people.”
“You don’t think I don’t know that?”
Code questioned crossing her arms over her chest. The two women locked eyes as it was almost as if they were reading each others body language instead of talking.
“I’ll see if Judith can’t find anything else out about this Daniel guy. Don’t let CJ do anything stupid in the meantime. We’re down to eight, we don’t need to be any less.”
Doodle said before she stuffed her hands in her black leather jacket pockets and walked away from Code. The woman shook her head one last time. If these two didn’t kill her first she wasn’t sure what would get her.
Several weeks later –
After an extensive amount of research Judith was unable to find out anything else on the Daniel man. His files were too encrypted for anything else to even be remotely pulled from the folder on the man. CJ had seemed to back off of the charge she was wanting to do to grab this man after a long and insensitive talk with Code – which was much to Doodle’s pleasure.
Now Chaos found herself in a room with Boxx and Red. The fireworks were being prepared to be shipped out to a high end buyer which would put more money in their pockets. The plan to blow up the government building fell through not wanting to risk killing their Daniel in the blast by accident.
“I’m so sad I won’t be able to see you light up the night sky my baby.”
Boxx said running her fingers across the large wooden crate. Red glanced her sister’s way and shook her head, her sister could be so strange sometimes. Glancing Chaos’s way, Red grabbed her note book and scribbled something down in it before walking over and tapping Chaos on the shoulder. The woman turned and looked seeing that there was the notebook that Red used to communicate with since she was mute.
“Who is the buyer?”
Chaos red the words on the white paper. She looked up at Red with a frown.
“Dunno. CJ set it up. We’re just suppose to be the ones to ship it out.”
She told her. Red lowered her gaze for a moment as she flipped to a new page and started writing something else down and then showing it to her.
“Why don’t we know? We always know.”
“Look, what CJ does is what she does. I’m not going to question her over some mystery buyer for our explosives. Apparently they’re paying a good amount of gillens for it. So don’t question it okay.”
She said crossing her arms over her chest as Red shook her head. Walking away she went back over to her sister and tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention. Boxx turned around and smiled at her sister as Red waved for her to follow her.
“Alrighty where are we going Red? Is it somewhere exciting? I hope it’s somewhere exciting!”
Chaos could hear the woman giggling as she walked away with her sister. She rolled her eyes, not caring about whatever the two of them were going off to do. She had to make sure that this stuff go loaded onto the truck so it could be taken to the buyer.
“Chaos! Truck’s here!”
Judith called out jogging inside and opening up the bay door to their warehouse. It was small, and it was located behind their hideout. It was where the sisters Boxx and Red made their fireworks as they called them. Chaos never understood why CJ would allow the warehouse to be so close to the hideout, but she always said it was something about hiding in plain sight.
Judith opened the door by hitting a button on the side panel that automatically raised the steel door. Waving the truck backwards Judith directed the vehicle into the bay where they could load up what it was they had to sell. Chaos stood back and watched as the truck came to a stop and the engine was killed.
Standing back on the very back half of the loading dock Chaos watched as the doors opened and out jumped two men who were ready to load the cargo. Walking forward she pointed to the three crates that they had for the men.
These men – whoever they were – kept their faces hidden with black masks.
“This it?”
One of them asked having an extremely deep voice. Chaos nodded this was what they had for them to take. The other man who hadn’t spoken yet pulled out an orange envelope that was stuffed with the correct amount of crash that was agreed upon by CJ. Taking it Chaos opened the package and did a quick skim through to make sure it was all there.
“Looks good. You can load it.”
She told them as they went to work on getting it into the trucks. The men worked together to load it, taking a dolly they had and putting it on there before walking it down to the truck and placing it into the bed.
“You know who they are?”
Judith asked as she watched along side Chaos as the men loaded the truck.
“No idea.”
She replied turning on her heels and heading back to the hideout to give CJ the money when the woman returned. Judith watched as Chaos left and couldn’t help but be slightly confused. How was it that only CJ seemed to know who it was that they had sold the product to. Wasn’t that something that everyone was suppose to be on the same page about? Sighing, Judith went to leave to head back to close the door once the men were done and loaded.
