Chapter VII

Across on the West side of Merria was where China Town was located. Even though the entire city might have been divided into three different classes that didn’t mean that the ethnic groups didn’t stick to their own. Getting there in the jeep was CJ, Code, Chaos and following behind them on the bike was Doodle and Kay. The other girls had staid back at the hideout working out a plan to kidnap the man Daniel for later on tomorrow. Between Judith, Red, and Boxx they believed the girls could make it work. Driving through the murky streets Code drove slowly so as to not hit anyone that walked down the busy streets in China Town. “I never did like coming here.” Code spoke up from the back of the jeep. CJ couldn’t help but smirk as she turned around and looked at Code. “Still superstitious?” CJ poked causing Code to shake her head as she ducked it down to look out her window. “Always have been, always will be.” She told her friend who only snickered as she turned back to look out on the road as Chaos drove. Growing curious she turned and looked at the woman driving. “What about you Chaos? You believe in ghost?” “I believe in what I can see and kill.” She replied causing CJ to make a face between slightly amused and shocked. Turning back she nodded her head and clicked her tongue. “Guess that answers my question.” Pulling up to the address Chaos pulled off into an alleyway and cut the engine. Doodle pulled up behind them and shut off her bike, flipping the kickstand down as both her and Kay climbed off the back. “You think this is really going to work?” Kay questioned while it was just the two of them standing outside together. Doodle looked at her partner and shook her head. She knew this wasn’t going to work. Someone was going to betray someone else. That’s how it always went down. Hell that’s how theirs and Emit’s relationship first went. In the slums it was you take care of number one and that number one is yourself. So it was odd to hear about a group of women forming a group to try and restore peace and equality to the whole city. “It’s what CJ wants to happen, so we’re going to try.” She told Kay right as the doors to the jeep opened and out stepped the three women. Doodle made eye contact with CJ and seen the woman sigh deeply before nodding her head for the five of them to head inside. Walking around the front of the run down, but brightly lit building, they walked in through the front door. Coming inside they noticed that all the lights inside were red, giving the place they went to an erry red glow. Walking further inside after coming through a small hallway there was two very large Chinese body guard looking men standing on either side of the paper sliding door. Walking up the two men sidestepped and blocked the path of CJ – who was in the lead – and merely looked down at her as if telling her she couldn’t enter. “We’re here for the Red Moon so please, tell them that we’re here.” She told the men. They just looked at her before looking forward. She gritted her teeth, obvious that the men weren’t going to let her inside nor speak to her. She chuckled a little bit as she looked back up at the two men and nodded her head a little bit. “Is that how it’s going to be?” She asked putting her hands on her hips as she slowly turned her gaze back and forth between the two of them. They still refused to speak to her. She shrugged her shoulders. “Alright.” She said as her ring on her finger went to glow and she pulled her fist back. Smashing her fists forward she caused one man after the other to fly through the door and part of the wall. As they flew back through it was obvious that they could hear female screaming and people running around. Stepping through the door CJ quickly leaned back when a knife came up to her face from a man that had stepped around the corner with his blade drawn. Lifting her fist again she punched his arm, his bone snapping in half as he dropped the knife and screamed out in pain as he fell to his knees. “Three o’clock.” CJ said as she stepped inside. “Got em.” Doodle said as she pulled forth her scythe and with the barrel of the gun she swung low and knocked the Chinese man off his feet. Turning her blade around to the back side where it was blunt she brought it down onto the man’s abdomen and caused him to cry out in pain as she was sure she broke a rib or two. Swinging the scythe around she held it and aimed at the door where she seen a few more Chinese men started to run through to her left and opened fired at the top of the doorway making sure she wouldn’t hit any of them. They yelled and stumbled back into the room where they’d come from and probably running out the back door. As CJ moved to the middle of the room she seen that the bar was located to her left right next to where they had entered. Looking straight forward was a staircase that lead to what seemed like an open balcony of the second and possibly third floors of the building. The ceiling was extremely tall, two stories worth at least giving the whole room an open feel. There were many rooms on the second and possibly third floor of the building. The balcony ran all the way around the open room on both levels. “Hey Code, what is this place?” Doodle called out wondering what type of building this was that had so many rooms. Code just shrugged as she stood there, her weapon still not drawn, as she stood by CJ and Chaos. “I’m thinking brothel.” She replied. “That you would be correct.” A voice called out from above. Hearing the sound of movement, they all turned and looked up on the second floor. There stood a woman dressed in a black business suit looking down at them. She was Asian of some type with her long black hair tied up in a red hairband and her nails long and white. She looked like she was doing very well for someone that lived in the slums. She had about four men surrounding her – most likely for protection – and all of them didn’t seem too happy about their unexpected arrival. “You are the Daughters of Monarchy I presume?” She inquired looking over all of them. “I am surprised to see such wanted criminals in my place of business. But then again, I figured you’d be around soon enough.” She told them. Kay raised a brow wondering how the woman had figured they’d be by to see this place. “My name is Kara, may I ask what you’re doing here disrespecting my staff and wrecking my building?” Kara said looking down at CJ. CJ took a step forward with her hands on her hips a she looked up at the woman. “We’ve come here to hire the Red Moon. We’ve got a sticky situation we’d like them to handle. Heard this was the place to come.” Kara raised a brow, probably wondering what CJ had meant by a sticky situation. Regardless Kara leaned over the railing as she perched her hands against it and looked down at everyone. “I can see that the rumors are true. That you are able to summons weapons. Why is it that you need our help when you are so powerful yourselves?” “Why refuse a cash offer?” Chaos questioned wondering why they weren’t so willing to take the offer of the job. Kara just crackled a laugh as she sighed and looked down at them. “I think I have the right to know what it is my men will be doing before accepting such an offer. And anything from the Daughters of Monarchy I can only think that this job is a little too hot for my line of work.” Everyone was silent as they looked up at Kara. So even she had her limits as to what she would work with and what she wouldn’t. Doodle knew there was a reason why none of this sat right with her. They were too big of a problem for the government and anything that the Red Moon could do to stay out of their involvement it seemed like they would do it. “You say anything from us – but a couple of days ago it was you who was attacking us?” Doodle said speaking up, causing all eyes on her. Kara didn’t say anything as she looked at her then she clicked her tongue. “That is different – “ “What’s different is pissing off a highly skilled and marked terrorist group instead of working along side of them. That’s what’s different. And to be honest makes very little sense to me.” Eyes turned back to look at Kara. Her expression was lax, but she seemed to be thinking about what she was just told. “You’re right. But our buyer only wanted information.” “Kinda hard to get information out of a dead person isn’t it? Your group open fired on us!” Kay said speaking up remembering good and well the bullets that went flying through the room. Kara puffed out her cheek as she went to stand up straight. She looked at Kay with narrowed eyes before they shifted down to CJ who started to speak again. “Look, I’m a leader too. I know that s**t gets f****d up and when it does you’ve gotta be the one to fix it. That’s why we’re here. We’ve got a job for you because we messed up. Now here’s to ways I see this can go.” She started speaking as she moved around the destroyed room a little. “You can either help us out and take our money for this job and we’ll forget everything that happened that night you attacked us – apparently even though you were only there for information.” “Or?” Kara questioned wondering what the second option to this deal was about. CJ nodded her head quickly a few times as she stopped walking and looked up at Kara. “Or we kill you and take over your business. After all it’s like you said – we’re so powerful ourselves.” CJ said as if this was a normal every day conversation. She was so calm and collected, but her group was far from that. Nobody could believe that she just told Kara the leader of the Red Moon that they would kill her and take over. “What the f**k is she doing?” Kay whispered just loud enough for Doodle to hear. Doodle didn’t even know what the hell was going on because this certainly wasn’t part of the plan that they had all agreed on back at the hideout. The plan was to go in peaceful unless otherwise and try to negotiate a way to get the Red Moon to work with them – but nobody had expected this from the whole negotiation deal. “Alright then, CJ leader of the Daughters of Monarchy, come up and we’ll talk a deal.” Kara said pushing herself up on the railing as she started walking toward the staircase to the third floor. CJ nodded as she turned back to her group. “Doodle, I want you and Kay to head back to the hideout and see what plans have been made for tomorrow. I don’t think we’ll need you here anymore.” CJ told the two women who had come here on the bike. Kay nodded as Doodle just looked at the woman. She had a lot she wanted to say to CJ, but she knew that it would have to be left for later. “If we’re not back before sun rise bring the others and come back here. We might be dead.” She added. Doodle finally nodded and looked a the other women – Code and Chaos – who just seemed to be looking as uncertain as herself. “Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. We’ll see you back at the hideout.” Doodle said as she pointed toward the door for Kay to have her exit first. CJ turned back around toward the stairs and headed that way. Doodle and Kay got outside and Kay was quick to throw questions the woman’s way. “Did you know she was going to threaten to have her killed if she didn’t comply?” Her voice was frantic as she waited for Doodle to climb onto the bike. Once she was settled and started the bike Doodle handed the helmet to Kay waiting for the woman to be seated. “No. I had no f*****g clue.” She told her as she revved the bike and pulled out of the alley and back home. The Next Day - Kay and Doodle both sat in the jeep outside in the Middle Class district. Doodle was dressed in a black dress and had a red curly wig on. Something that wouldn’t be questioned being seen around here. The dress was something that one of the girls would normally wear when coming here for missions or whatever it was that they needed to do. “Judith said that he comes here every morning around seven for coffee, but I don’t see him yet.” Kay said holding the binoculars up to her eyes as she looked out the driver side window. She was keeping an eye out while Doodle was extremely quiet in the passenger seat. This was normal – at least it would have been – if things wouldn’t have been so tense with the other girls lately. It seemed that after Judith’s near death Doodle had been drawn back more so from the club that she was prior. Putting the recon equipment down Kay turned and looked over at Doodle. “You okay?” She asked only to be met with more silence. She pressed her lips together and off to the side as she looked at her friend. “Is this still about last night? When CJ threatened that woman of the Red Moon?” Still nothing. Doodle was just looking forward across the street. When Kay turned her gaze she noticed that their target Daniel was walking across the street. Hearing the door open and then slam, Kay whipped her head to see that Doodle was gone and was now walking toward the coffee shop ready to meet up with Daniel. As Doodle walked across the street she took her time wanting to get there just after Daniel got there in line as well. Standing in line, Doodle watched out of the corner of her eye for him watching as he was preparing to cross the busy street. The coffee shop was an outdoor stand. There was no inside and merely a window that you stood at and ordered from the sidewalk. It was sitting on a ‘v shaped’ style property where there was a road to the right and left of it that came to an intersection of a road that ran vertical to the two streets. Daniel was crossing on the right side of her just as she bought the cheap and small cup of coffee. Making sure to look down as she went she made it less obvious that she was going to bump into him. And when she did, the coffee went all over him and some of herself. “Oh crap!” She yelped as she took a step back and looked up at the shocked expression of Daniel. “Oh God, I am so, so sorry! I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going and I – “ “Mystery woman?” He asked speaking up looking down at her. Every being of her body was screaming as he had recognized her from the last time they had seen each other. She looked up at him and he looked down at her rather shocked. “Your – uh – you’ve changed your hair?” He questioned with a small and odd smirk on his lips. Doodle didn’t know what to do, she figured that he wouldn’t have been able to recognize her if she had worn a wig this time. “Y-Yeah – I thought it was time for a change?” Daniel just smirked as he gave a small chuckle and having his smirk turn into a shy looking grin. “No offense, but red hair isn’t your color. I liked your blonde better.” He said mentioning the blonde wig she had worn last time. She didn’t know why but his comment irked her seeing as how red hair is the color she also had on underneath the wig. “We should get you cleaned off. I have some wipes in my car.”
