From The Moon Goddess

Chapter Seven

- Chase's P.O.V -

waves of current went up and down my spine as i felt someone uninvited weave back and forth across the border of our territory, my wolf itched to go investigate as i ran to my father's office as he was coming down the hall " did you feel that?" i asked as he swung open the door annoyance maring his face " someone is testing the border take a team and go check it out, as i left my father and headed towards the living room i saw several of our warriors and my beta to-be Rain, " Rain, Colt, Turner, Grayson come with me we need to check the border" i order as i turn and head for the door knowing that they had jumped up and followed me the second i called their names,

we quickly made our way to the tree line and shifted into our wolf forms i sent everyone in different directions and told them to keep their mind links open while we searched " track do not kill unless threatened am i understood?" i linked to them as they ran their separate ways each linked back that they understood as i headed to the north of our territory wanting to start near the main road and spread out east towards where Rain was searching it only took me minutes to reach the road and i shot out a few miles on the road edge itself as i made my way to the border as i ran i felt a wave tingle down my spine as whatever had been weaving in and out of our territory stopped and seemed to be dead on the line itself i prayed to the moon goddess above that it wasn't a hunter or roughs that it was just a hiker that had gotten lost and we could chase back onto the right path back to town, as i hit the border i made a right and started heading east to the eastern line and kept my ears and eyes open for any sight or sound of movement " Chase i found a scent north east corner could use back up i.. i don't know what to do right now man" Rain Linked to me only i pumped my legs as fast as they could go weaving in and out of trees and jumping over fallen branches as i made my way to my beta "i'm on my way" i linked back quickly when i was about a mile away my nose picked up a scent that had my wolf excited and moving faster than it had ever moved before my mind was that concentrated on the scent that i almost didn't see the brown wolf of my beta before he shot out in front of me i rounded a tree and came to a stop next to Rain panting slightly

Chase - " what have you found man"

Rain - " i picked up a scent about half a mile to the east and followed it up hear " he nodded his head towards the eastern border and started trotting back that way as i followed

Chase - " well what is it i lost hiker, a hunter what man" the scent became stronger the further east we went and my wolf was practically pushing at me to chase it down and get as close as possible

Rain - " well, its a girl dude she looks pretty upset and you know i don't deal well with crying women i thought that maybe you would know what to do" he looked back at me as he stops a few steps in front of me nodding his head to infront of us i mind linked the others that the intruder had been found and was being dealt with as i snuck my way closer to where the scent was coming from Rain was only a step behind me as i looked threw a bush and caught sight of the girl he spoke o.

Their in the middle of a small clearing was a white haired girl on her hands and knees crying uncontrollably my heart broke in that moment wanting nothing more then to go to her and make her smile, i didn't know what she was doing their or why she was crying but in my head my wolf was howling out in pain "make her stop crying Chase please she needs us" begged max my wolf " why i don't know her Max... do you?" i linked back to my wolf " she is our mate i***t why else would i want her to stop hurting, what if she is really hurt we need to check go to her make her better Chase NOW!" snapped Max i turned my head to Rain " have you seen her before Rain?" i asked in hope she was a pack member i hadn't met but he shook his head in response "stay here then" was my only reply as i made my way towards her trying to open a link with her " hey are you alright, are you hurt?" i asked as she stiffened " go away and leave me alone" she replied to me her voice was link silk and honey "please don't be sad i'm not here to hurt you or anything i just want to make sure your not hurt anywhere" i spoke as softly as i could so i didn't scare her i needed to know who she was and from what pack she was from just then she looked up and her eyes went from sad to shocked as a scream erupted from her mouth making me jump back a little " hey its ok calm down" i yelled at her over her screams although i really didn't have to considering i was speaking to her mind " human" was all that max said before putting his tail between his legs and sitting in my mind looking confused " wait what that's impossible can she hear us or did she hear my paws in the leaves the screaming stopped and she shuffled her body back slightly " oooh s**t i... i'm going to get eaten by a giant flee bitten mutt shoo shoo " she waved her hands in front of her trying to shoo me off so i plonked my ass dawn and tilted my head " can you hear me girl?" i asked threw the mind link so i knew if she was what max thought she was and once again her eyes went wide as she looked around for the voice she heard i closed the link to her and opened it to Rain " dude this s**t is crazy max says she's human but she can f*****g hear me" " who said that please help there's a wolf ".

I looked around her wondering if there was others with her flicking my ears back and forth for any sound from nearby but heard nothing " please i'm not going to hurt you my name is Chase are you hurt" i wasn't really sure what i was doing right now and if my father knew he would whoop my ass for sure but if max was right and this girl was my mate then i needed to figure out why she could hear me especially if she is human, her bloodshot blue eyes looked at me then and my heart nearly stopped her amazing blue eyes was something i wanted to happily drown in and i wondered if they would sparkle if she laughed "Chase please there is a wolf i, i'm a scared i don't want to be it's dinner" she shouted out into the forest hoping a man would jump out and shoot me away, how the hell was i going to explain this to her i thought before max jumped up in my mind pushing to take over before i shoved him back " are you hurt ? " i asked her watching her gulp and shake her head " no just a little lost where are you please i just want to go back home i don't want to get eaten" i mentally let out a sigh " do not be afraid of the wolf i.. he won't hurt you just follow him and he will lead you back the way you came" i inched forward to her as she tried to move back before her back hit a tree and i sat down on her feet she had no shoes on and her cloths was dirty she must of been out here quite a while to be this filthy i thought to myself.

It took her a moment or two before she placed her hand on my head and shocks went shivering down my spine as she curled her fingers in my fun and then released it as she looked into my face her plump lips was calling me to kiss her but in this form it wouldn't of been at all pleasant for her to i stood up and waited for her to join "Rain go back and tell the Alpha that it was just a lost hiker and that i have taken them back to the path do not speak of what happened here today Rain not to anyone " i mind linked him before i lead her away from the border and followed her scent after walking with her for about twenty minutes i picked up three more scents one of which was that of the hunter from the other day and i let out a growl as i stopped shielding her from that direction " it's ok i live there i can find my own way now" she bent down beside me as i looked at her dumbfounded she must of thought i was growling at the old cabin that had been abandoned for years well or so i thought she gave my fur a little ruffle which i won't lie i enjoyed and kissed the top of my muzzle and stood up " you best go before they come out and catch you they say they hunt werewolves and stuff and i wouldn't want them confusing you with one" she spoke to me as if i understood (which i did ) but i don't think she knew that and then she ran off towards the non abandoned anymore cabin i waited till i heard the door shut and then ran away as fast as i could taking making rough tracks as i went so that if the hunters was to pick up my trail they would be going on a run around following it.

-Ella's P.O.V -

something had me drawn to that black wolf the second i put my hand on his head once i stopped being scared of it and that guy Chase had assured me that the thing was safe i was fine but then i kept thinking to myself why send me with a wolf if he was out their, for a split second i thought maybe it was the wolf that had spoken to me but that sounded as stupid as my parents being hunters and getting killed by werewolves as we walked i didn't hear Chases voice again as much as i wish i could of his voice was calming and mesmerizing when we finally made our way back to the cabin the wolf stopped started growling he could probably smell Emerson, Henry and Marcus and had placed himself in front of me after i reassured him it was safe and it's where i lived i was about to leave i realized i had spoken of what they had told me not an hour earlier and felt the urge to protect him i shook the thought from my head as i left him and went up the steps and into the cabin Henry, Emerson and Marcus was all sitting in the living room and stood when they heard the door close " where have you been?" i ignored them and went upstairs to my room and locked the door i didn't want to talk to them when all they did was lie and try telling me stupid stories that was far far FAR from the truth i spent an hour sitting on my windowsill looking to see if i could see the back wolf while all three of them tried to get my out of my room and all failing by 9 o'clock they had given up and stopped knocking on my door and i got washed and dressed and went to bed.

My dreams full of werewolves and car crashes several times i woke up during the night thinking i could hear the howling of wolves and the screams of my parents as they were shredded up and torn limb from limb by wolves by 5 am i was once again sat by my window looking out into the forest beyond wondering if i will ever see Chase's face or the black wolf again hell i think i would settle for hearing Chase's voice, it was then i heard a howl in the distance and wondered if it was the black wolf i imagined him chasing a bunny around the forest enjoying the hunt but once catching it letting it got only to chase after it again i sat chuckling to myself.
